His lips turned purple with rage, his grip on the bed rail trembling as his chest heaved.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He pressed a hand to his heart, and his face went ashen in an instant.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGrandpa!\u201d Genevieve\u2019s pupils tightened. She snapped out of it and moved forward.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDon\u2019t make things worse!\u201d Zachary yanked her wrist back, his gaze hard. \u201cCall a doctor! Now!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sylvia panicked and reached for her phone, but Raymond forced out a few words with what little strength he had left. \u201cAll\u2026 All of you\u2026 Get out. Gen, stay.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tristan had already turned away. He headed for the door without uttering a single word.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Zachary stayed rooted to the spot, staring at Raymond like he couldn\u2019t believe what he\u2019d just heard. \u201cGrandpa! What\u2019s the point of leaving Genevieve here? She\u2019s not a doctor!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He was such an idiot.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Genevieve\u2019s chest tightened with anger. She threw Zachary\u2019s hand off and looked at him with icy contempt. \u201cIf you still care about your grandfather, get out now!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The chill in her eyes made Zachary hesitate for a second.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Raymond\u2019s face was already paper-white. Sylvia didn\u2019t dare waste another second. She grabbed Zachary and practically dragged him out of the bedroom.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Without hesitation, she crossed to the bedside table, pulled open the bottom drawer with practiced ease, and took out a small velvet pouch.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When she unfolded it, a row of needles of varying lengths gleamed with a chilling sheen.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She picked a needle and went straight to work, her movements fast and precise as she struck several points near Raymond\u2019s chest.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The entire process was quick and fluid. But she kept that thought to herself.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Raymond fell silent for a moment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGen, there are things I shouldn\u2019t meddle in. But there are lines you can\u2019t cross.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Genevieve felt her chest tighten.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Raymond went on, \u201cFeelings take time to build.
