As dawn broke, the old lady, as usual, got up to take a walk in the yard, then practiced Tai Chi for a while. Returning to her room, she hadn\u2019t seen Zhan Yue come downstairs yet. She asked the housekeeper, \u201cHasn\u2019t Eighth Master gotten up yet?\u201d<\/p>\n

The housekeeper replied, \u201cUsually on weekends, Eighth Young Master doesn\u2019t get up until almost noon, unless he has plans to go out with friends or is with important clients.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEighth Young Master always says he\u2019s busy all week, and on the weekend he wants to sleep in for a couple of days,\u201d<\/p>\n

the old lady said. \u201cWhat day is it today? He\u2019s still sleeping in. I<\/p>\n

\u2018ll go upstairs and wake him.\u201d The old lady said, heading upstairs. The housekeeper offered to help her, but she refused.<\/p>\n

She could walk two laps around the yard herself; she didn\u2019t need help.<\/p>\n

Usually, her grandsons helped her; she was just giving them a chance to be filial.<\/p>\n

The housekeeper then gave up on helping the old lady upstairs and stood at the top of the stairs watching her slowly ascend.<\/p>\n

Zhan Yue had actually set an alarm, but after it went off, he turned it off and went back to sleep.<\/p>\n

He\u2019d even forgotten why he\u2019d set his alarm on Saturday.<\/p>\n

He\u2019d been out socializing until late last night, and the house in Wansheng Garden was being renovated; work was suspended today because Master Tang couldn\u2019t come, and he\u2019d told him last night.<\/p>\n

So, he didn\u2019t need to go over today.<\/p>\n

He just wanted to get a good night\u2019s sleep.<\/p>\n

Then, knocking on the door kept coming, making it impossible for Zhan Yue to fall back asleep.<\/p>\n

He walked out barefoot to open the door, his handsome face still gloomy. He thought it was the housekeeper knocking, and was seething with anger.<\/p>\n

He opened the door, about to unleash a torrent of abuse, when he saw his grandmother standing there. Zhan Yue was startled. \u201cGrandma?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cStill sleeping? The sun\u2019s high in the sky! Get up!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThen go pick up Xiaoya from the Zeng family clinic. Have you forgotten my appointment with Xiaoya? I asked her to come over today to chat with me and give you a tour of your big villa.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zhan Yue: \u201c\u2026Grandma, I almost forgot. I was wondering why I set my alarm on Saturday.\u201d
\nThe old lady slapped him across the face. \u201cYou brat! I shamelessly fought for this opportunity for you, and you\u2019ve forgotten it! Hurry up and get ready to pick up Xiaoya.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zhan Yue wasn\u2019t angry at all after being slapped by his grandmother. Instead, he grinned and said, \u201cGrandma, I\u2019ll be right there. Give me ten minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHurry up.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOkay.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zhan Yue turned and walked back.<\/p>\n

The old lady went downstairs and instructed the housekeeper to prepare food, drinks, and various fruits that she thought were delicious, so she could entertain Xiaoya when she arrived.<\/p>\n

Ten minutes later, Zhan Yue appeared before the old lady looking refreshed.<\/p>\n

\u201cGrandma, how do I look? Do I look good? Is my outfit alright today?\u201d<\/p>\n

He was wearing a white short-sleeved T-shirt and black casual pants, and his stubble was clean-shaven.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo problem. Casual clothes are fine at home. Your skin tone suits white tops too. You look great.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWould you like something to eat before picking up Xiaoya?\u201d<\/p>\n

the old lady asked. Without waiting for Zhan Yue\u2019s answer, she quickly instructed the housekeeper to bring out Zhan Yue\u2019s breakfast.<\/p>\n

Zhan Yue had intended to leave for the Zeng family clinic now, but his grandmother had already instructed the housekeeper. He said, \u201cI\u2019ll eat something before I head out; it\u2019s still a bit early.\u201d<\/p>\n

The clinic was only a ten-minute drive from his home, taking about twenty minutes unless there were red lights along the way.<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t far.<\/p>\n

\u201cGrandma, isn\u2019t Beibei coming with us?\u201d<\/p>\n

Zhan Yue asked.<\/p>\n

He had assumed his little niece was with her grandmother.<\/p>\n
