After being married for so long, she and

Zachary was also very affectionate. The bed sheets had been rolled countless times, yet she hadn’t discovered a child. During their honeymoon, Jasmine became pregnant, which added to Serenity’s stress. No one dared to mention the child in her presence, fearing it might lead her into a downward spiral again.

Zachary worried that his wife was too busy and allowed her to remain preoccupied, believing that if she stayed occupied, she wouldn’t think about having children. He admired his beloved wife as she wore sportswear and sneakers, running in the yard with her long hair tied back, fluttering left and right as she moved.

Zachary’s gaze followed Serenity’s figure until, after a while, he turned away from the window. Soon, he changed into his tracksuit and went downstairs. Serenity had completed two laps and was planning to return to the house when she spotted Zachary coming out. She smiled and waited for him to approach. “I was about to go back inside, but why don’t I run two more laps with you?” she suggested.

“By the way, has Sonny woken up yet?” she added. As they ran side by side, Zachary inquired about his nephew.

“Not yet; when I got up, he was still sleeping,” Zachary replied with a hum. He then asked, “Would you like to go to the hospital to see Duncan together later?”

Although Duncan didn’t want to see them, Zachary visited the hospital daily. Having been friends for many years, they were like brothers. Before Duncan fully recovered, Zachary wanted to visit him because he genuinely cared about Duncan’s injury and sincerely hoped for his swift recovery.

It was even better than the beautiful poems she had copied.
