She called the clerk on her old phone, and the clerk answered promptly. “Boss, I’m back at the door,” the clerk said with a smile before hanging up, parking the electric car, and entering the store.

Upon seeing Liberty and Sonny, they exchanged smiles and hugs, with Sonny believing he was as adorable as a blooming flower. Camryn asked the clerk for a few moments, picked up some supplements, and then, along with Liberty and Sonny, headed to the hospital to visit Duncan.

However, once they arrived, Duncan still refused to see Liberty. Camryn was taken aback by his words, which indicated that he didn’t want to see Liberty or even his cherished Sonny. As a result, the Lewis family’s bodyguards had to enforce Duncan’s wishes, preventing Liberty and Sonny from entering the ward.

Confused, Sonny shouted at Uncle Duncan from the door, but despite several attempts, Duncan wouldn’t allow him inside. Only Camryn was permitted to enter the ward under Mrs. Lewis’s guidance. Lacking any friendship with Duncan, she couldn’t engage with him directly. She offered some kind words, left the supplements, and then exited.

Mrs. Lewis gazed at her son lying in the hospital bed and pleaded with him, “Duncan, don’t you want to see Liberty and Sonny? Didn’t you say you liked Sonny the most? He’s just a child and doesn’t understand. If you keep this up, he may think you don’t like him anymore.” Duncan kept his eyes closed and remained silent. Despite his grandmother’s reprimands, he felt deeply conflicted and was unsure of what to do next.

When Mrs. Lewis realized that her son didn’t want to talk, her eyes filled with tears once more.

It was her fault.

It was entirely her fault!

She quietly asked the doctor how much hope there was for Duncan to recover from his leg injury to lead a normal life and how long the process might take.

The doctor replied that there was still hope, but it largely depended on Duncan’s willingness to engage in therapy and his ability to endure rehabilitation. It was a mental challenge, and the duration of recovery remained uncertain.

After hearing the doctor’s words, Mrs. Lewis felt her heart sink.

From the moment her son learned about his injury, she noticed a sense of self-abandonment in him.

When visitors came by, Duncan barely spoke, except to his grandmother. Anyone who saw him could see that he was struggling with depression and had lost confidence in his future.

Yet, he refused to see Liberty, even though Mrs. Lewis believed her son had strong feelings for her. Once Duncan was discharged from the hospital, she planned to ask Liberty to support him during his rehabilitation, hoping it would motivate him to persevere and recover more quickly.

Regretfully, Mrs. Lewis thought to herself that if she could turn back time, she would never have stopped her son from pursuing Liberty.

……

Meanwhile, at Annenburg, FC Manor, Tim assisted Lilian Carden out of the house, but she felt uncomfortable walking with his support.

Pulling away from him, she said, “I can stand on a plane for hours without your help. You make me feel like an invalid.”

Tim replied, “You have a big belly, and you’re going down the steps again. I want to help you navigate them safely. I’m being considerate, but you still don’t appreciate it.”

Lilian responded, “Alright, alright, you are

“While I may not agree with you, I don’t harbor any feelings of hatred.”

Camryn said, “I can only go out when someone is watching the store.” Since she wanted to connect with the […]

[20

post-13994","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-married-at-first-sight
["GET
