After a moment of hesitation, Zachary decided to be honest with Serenity. <\/p>\n

\u201cSerenity, I don\u2019t want to go. Once the food arrives, you can eat it yourself. I\u2019m in the hospital because Duncan had a car accident.\u201d<\/p>\n

Upon hearing this, Serenity\u2019s expression shifted, and she quickly asked, \u201cWhat happened? Was it when you and Mr. Lewis were together? Did you two drink again? Was it drunk driving?\u201d<\/p>\n

Zachary quickly clarified, \u201cNo, we didn\u2019t drink today. We did drink yesterday, but neither of us was driving. I\u2019m not sure what happened. Josh informed me, and I rushed to the hospital. Duncan is still being treated; he said his legs are the most seriously injured. I don\u2019t know if they can save them.\u201d<\/p>\n

As he spoke, Zachary\u2019s tone grew somber, and his words slowed, reflecting his sadness.<\/p>\n

Serenity replied, \u201cI\u2019ve finished my work now. I\u2019ll close the store and head to the hospital too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zachary didn\u2019t try to stop her; he simply said, \u201cDrive safely.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll have the bodyguard drive. Don\u2019t worry too much; everything will be fine,\u201d Serenity reassured him.<\/p>\n

Zachary responded with a hum, \u201cIt will be fine!\u201d He had faith that Duncan would pull through.<\/p>\n

\u201cSerenity, make sure to come back after you eat,\u201d he advised, concerned for his friend. He knew he wouldn\u2019t be able to eat when he arrived at the hospital, and Serenity would also skip meals.<\/p>\n

\u201cOkay, how many people are at the hospital? I\u2019ll grab fast food for everyone,\u201d Serenity suggested.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s no need for that. Just eat something yourself; I\u2019ll send someone to get food,\u201d Zachary arranged, which eased Serenity\u2019s mind.<\/p>\n

After ending the call, she ate a little.<\/p>\n

quickly grab some food and then hurriedly moved the shelves at the store entrance inside. The bodyguard noticed she was about to close up the shop and came in to assist her. A few minutes later, Serenity got into the car, and the bodyguard drove her to Wiltspoon People\u2019s Hospital. During the drive, she pondered for a while before finally reaching her sister\u2019s cell phone.<\/p>\n

\u201cAuntie,\u201d answered the phone, and it was Sonny. <\/p>\n

\u201cSonny, where is Mom? Please tell her to answer the phone,\u201d Serenity said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAuntie, don\u2019t you miss me? I miss you! Mom and I have moved to a new house. Do you want to come live with us? I want to be with both my aunt and my mom,\u201d Sonny replied.<\/p>\n

As before, Sonny longed to see her aunt every day. When Serenity lived at her sister\u2019s house, Sonny had formed some memories of her. <\/p>\n

\u201cSonny, I need to speak with Mommy urgently. Can you please give her the phone?\u201d Serenity requested.<\/p>\n

Sonny huffed and walked into the kitchen, holding the phone. She told Liberty, who was washing dishes, \u201cMom, Auntie\u2019s on the line.\u201d<\/p>\n

Liberty took the phone, switched it to speakerphone, and asked while continuing with the dishes, \u201cSerenity, what\u2019s going on?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSister, something has happened to Mr. Lewis,\u201d Serenity said.<\/p>\n

Liberty froze at this news and inquired, \u201cWhat happened to him?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cZachary mentioned that Mr. Lewis was in a car accident. I\u2019m not sure what caused it, but his injuries are serious, and he\u2019s still in the hospital being treated. I\u2019m on my way there now. When you had your accident, he went above and beyond to help and even stayed with you in the hospital all night. I didn\u2019t think this could be kept from you, so I wanted to let you know,\u201d Serenity explained.<\/p>\n

It was ultimately up to Liberty to decide whether to go to the hospital or not. Liberty didn\u2019t even<\/p>\n

She washed the dishes and said, \u201cI\u2019m going to the hospital now.\u201d It wasn\u2019t about emotions; she and Duncan had known each other for nearly a year, and Duncan had always looked after her. After her accident, Duncan stayed by her side in the hospital. Because of his kindness, Liberty decided to go to the hospital to wait for Duncan to wake up. <\/p>\n

Serenity said, \u201cSister, if you choose to go to the hospital, I\u2019ll turn around and pick you up right now.\u201d <\/p>\n

Liberty replied, \u201cNo, I\u2019ll drive myself.\u201d <\/p>\n

Serenity cautioned, \u201cAlright, sister, just be careful while driving. Will you be going to the hospital with Sonny?\u201d<\/p>\n
