\u201cDuncan, listen to me. I\u2019m a woman of my word. I will not allow you to be with Liberty unless the sun rises in the west. Look at everything you\u2019ve done. Has Liberty been affected? No. She doesn\u2019t like you! <\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s probably irritated by your constant pestering. If it weren\u2019t for your friendship with Zachary, she might not even open the door for you and could set her dog on you. <\/p>\n

\u201cThere are plenty of women out there. Why are you so fixated on her? I admit Liberty is a nice lady, but she\u2019s not right for you.\u201d <\/p>\n

Duncan replied quietly, \u201cI like Liberty. It\u2019s fine if she doesn\u2019t accept me now. I\u2019m willing to wait. I won\u2019t give up as long as she\u2019s not married to someone else. Whether it takes a year, two, or even ten\u2014I can wait for her.\u201d <\/p>\n

Mrs. Lewis was exasperated. <\/p>\n

Mrs. Lewis was furious with her son. <\/p>\n
