We can move to a place closer to your school, making it easier for me to drop you off.”

What opinions could a three-year-old possibly have?

After Liberty’s explanation, Sonny nodded in agreement.

She then contacted a real estate agent, shared her rental requirements, and asked for suggestions.

Liberty wasn’t in a hurry to purchase a home; she intended to explore her options and make a decision only after finding a suitable property.

Her top priority was to cover her son’s education costs.

Sonny was enrolled in the best preschool in Wiltspoon, where the annual tuition ranged from one hundred thousand to two hundred thousand dollars. She had received some financial support from Hank during their divorce.

After using a part of that money to invest in All You Can Eat, she found the diner thriving, but she also purchased a car. Once the car expenses were deducted, the profits from All You Can Eat were insufficient to break even.

She anticipated that after another month of hard work, she would finally break even and start making a profit.

Liberty planned to wait until her son began elementary school before considering purchasing a house. She wanted to confirm which school he would attend first.

It would be ideal to find a home located conveniently between elementary and junior high schools.

As Liberty sought a real estate agent to find a house, Duncan had just exited his apartment building when he spotted his mother stepping out of the car.

He felt relieved that he had timed his arrival perfectly for his mom’s

arrival. He could stop his mother from allowing her to meet Liberty.

“Duncan.”

Mrs. Lewis approached and grasped Duncan’s arm.

“Come. Follow me.”

“To where?”

Mrs. Lewis pulled her son gently and said, “I spoke to Fran on the way here. She knows a suitable girl she can recommend for you. Go on a blind date now.”

Duncan shook his mother’s hand off.

He paused and said seriously, “How many times do I have to tell you, Mom? I will be in charge of my own marriage. I don’t need you or Dad interfering.”

“Duncan, listen to me. I’m a woman of my word. I will not allow you to be with Liberty unless the sun rises in the west. Look at everything you’ve done. Has Liberty been affected? No. She doesn’t like you!

“She’s probably irritated by your constant pestering. If it weren’t for your friendship with Zachary, she might not even open the door for you and could set her dog on you.

“There are plenty of women out there. Why are you so fixated on her? I admit Liberty is a nice lady, but she’s not right for you.”

Duncan replied quietly, “I like Liberty. It’s fine if she doesn’t accept me now. I’m willing to wait. I won’t give up as long as she’s not married to someone else. Whether it takes a year, two, or even ten—I can wait for her.”

Mrs. Lewis was exasperated.

“Ten years? You’ll be almost fifty by then!”

Duncan responded casually, “I’m willing to wait until my hair turns gray.”

“Are you really trying to drive me to an early grave just to hold my funeral?”

Mrs. Lewis was furious with her son.

“Duncan, even if you somehow marry Liberty, I won’t accept her as my daughter-in-law. Your life after marriage will not be happy. I’ll be sure to nitpick.”

and often criticize Liberty. I will also instigate various conflicts and misunderstandings between you and Liberty. “Unless, of course, you jeopardize our mother-son relationship!”

Chapter 1665 Sonny asked, puzzled, “Why do we have to move, Mom?” He had been living there with his mother […]

[20

post-13968","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-married-at-first-sight
["GET
