Are you there?\u201d<\/div>\n<div>\u201cYes, I just arrived home. Where are you? Let me come pick you up.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>\u201cNo need to trouble yourself. I can drive myself home. Besides, it\u2019s too much hassle for you to come all the way just to get me. I\u2019ll be back in ten minutes, so just wait for me at home, babe.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>\u201cAlright. Drive safely. Remember, you\u2019re driving a car, not flying a jet.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Serenity laughed. \u201cI wouldn\u2019t even know how to fly a plane.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Sometimes, Serenity would speed on her way home, but her two bodyguards would quickly discourage her from doing so.<\/div>\n<div>When Zachary learned of this, he scolded her and then mentioned it to Liberty, hoping she would reprimand Serenity for her behavior.<\/div>\n<div>Serenity realized that Zachary often complained to her sister.<\/div>\n<div>Whenever his advice went unheeded, he would turn to Liberty for support.<\/div>\n<div>From that point on, Serenity felt she had to be cautious about Zachary\u2019s feelings in everything she did.<\/div>\n<div>If she wasn\u2019t careful, he would whine to his in-laws daily.<\/div>\n<div>She had never encountered such a man-child before.<\/div>\n<div>When Serenity expressed her frustration about Zachary\u2019s constant reporting to Liberty, her sister explained that Zachary was genuinely worried about her. Rather than confront her directly over a minor issue, he preferred to have Liberty address it on his behalf.<\/div>\n<div>His intention was not to complain out of spite, but out of sincere concern.<\/div>\n<div>What could Serenity say in response to that?<\/div>\n<div>Liberty was firmly on Zachary\u2019s side in this situation.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cIs there anything you\u2019d like for supper? I\u2019ll cook for you.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Serenity replied, \u201cThe\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Food doesn\u2019t taste the same when I\u2019m eating alone. Besides, I avoid late-night meals because I don\u2019t want to gain weight.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Zachary took great care of his physique. He never ate dinner. Even at social events, he barely touched his food and limited his alcohol intake, sometimes opting for just a few sips. There were occasions when he didn\u2019t drink at all. <\/p>\n<p>Everyone in Wiltspoon knew that it was unwise to suggest drinking when conducting business with Mr. York. After suffering from gastritis, Mrs. York opposed any alcohol consumption, insisting it would harm his stomach and overall health. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re not fat at all. In fact, you\u2019re as light as a feather. You should eat more and gain some weight. When you finally become too heavy to move, I won\u2019t have to worry about you leaving my sight.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Serenity chuckled, \u201cWe\u2019re married now, so you don\u2019t need to worry about me leaving your side. Even if I did, where would I go? I know you\u2019d search for me everywhere. Why waste all that time and effort? I\u2019d rather focus on business and making money.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re always thinking about money. I bet you\u2019re too caught up in it to notice me,\u201d he replied. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cCome on, don\u2019t be so grumpy. I\u2019ll head home right away.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s your fault I\u2019m acting this way.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat can\u2019t be helped. Being your wife is stressful, you know, with all the responsibilities I carry.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Zachary remained silent, hoping Serenity could continue to lead a simple life as a bookstore owner. However, now that she was his wife\u2014and soon to be the lady of the house\u2014she had to bear the responsibilities of managing their home. <\/p>\n<p>Hopefully, they\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Zachary might soon welcome a child. Once the child becomes an adult, he looks forward to enjoying early retirement and traveling with his wife, just like his father did decades ago. <\/p>\n<p>His mood improved significantly after their conversation. <\/p>\n<p>Upon entering the house, he didn\u2019t head to his room as usual. Instead, he settled on the couch and turned on the TV, filling the home with ambient noise. <\/p>\n<p>Although Serenity mentioned she would be back in ten minutes, she actually took twenty. <\/p>\n<p>On her way home, she picked up some snacks. <\/p>\n<p>Having attended numerous social events with her husband, Serenity had been indulging in exotic cuisine and missed the flavors of local Wiltspoon delicacies.
