Liberty believed that if she maintained a cold demeanor and ignored Duncan, he would find it unbearable and eventually give up on her. She felt confident that Duncan would soon realize that Lily was a better match for him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeren, why didn\u2019t you tell me about Mr. Lewis\u2019s feelings sooner?\u201d Liberty complained about her sister keeping the truth from her.<\/p>\n<p>Serenity responded apologetically, \u201cYou were still recovering, and Zachary asked Mr. Lewis not to confess to you yet to avoid frightening you, so I kept it from you.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Had it not been for Serenity feeling wronged on Liberty\u2019s behalf due to Mrs. Lewis\u2019s insinuations, she would have waited until her sister was discharged from the hospital to discuss it.<\/p>\n<p>However, it was a conversation they needed to have, and addressing it now seemed preferable. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cDon\u2019t keep anything from me in the future.
