Once the IV therapy concluded around noon, she was free to walk around.

However, her injured hand had not yet regained its usual strength, preventing her from holding her son.

She felt a bit concerned that this might impact her business in the future.

The doctor assured her that she would fully recover as long as she took proper care of herself, which provided some relief.

“Jasmine and I have been friends for many years. Of course, I’ll attend her engagement party,” she said.

Serenity peeled an apple and sliced it into quarters, distributing one piece to her sister, one to Sonny, and the remaining two to Mrs. Lane and the other maid.

“You go ahead, Missus,”

Mrs. Lane declined the apple.

Serenity smiled and replied, “Take it, Mrs. Lane. I don’t really like apples.”

Liberty added, “It’s true, Mrs. Lane. Seren doesn’t like apples. If you don’t eat them, they’ll just go to waste.”

At the sisters’ encouragement, Mrs. Lane and the maid accepted the apple slices that Serenity offered.

“What do you want for lunch, Liberty?”

Serenity set down the fruit knife and asked, “Let me know what you’d like to eat, and I’ll go back and cook for you.”

“You and Zachary took complete charge of my meals. Zachary even hired a nutritionist to create a menu to aid in my recovery. You both worked together to make that happen.”

Some of the dishes the nutritionist recommended were not to Liberty’s taste, and Serenity often had to coax her sister to finish them.

Serenity giggled and said, “If you have something else in mind, I can still whip that up for you.”

“There’s no need to go through the trouble. I can manage,” Liberty replied.

was in the hospital, bringing meals each time. “You all feed me so much that I’ll probably gain twenty pounds before I leave this place,” Liberty chuckled.

Losing weight was challenging for her, especially after her sister had once again taken it upon herself to fatten her up during her stay. It wasn’t just her sister and brother-in-law; Aunt Audrey also made sure to bring her nutritious soup every time she visited. Aunt Audrey insisted that Liberty needed more iron after losing a significant amount of blood, so she delivered iron-rich soup daily for Liberty to enjoy. The Yorks contributed as well, regularly sending over their own soups.

Liberty felt as if she were living like a farm pig in the hospital, with everyone treating her like a farm animal.

“That’s not true,” Serenity replied. “In fact, I think you’ve lost weight. Your face looks more defined.” Serenity reached out to touch her sister’s face. “Liberty, your skin feels much better too.”

“How could it not, with the luxury skincare products you and Elisa gave me? If my skin didn’t improve, you’d have every right to smash up the stores,” Liberty joked.

Before her divorce from Hank, her sister had also gifted her skincare products. Back then, Liberty was completely devoted to her family, constantly busy with cleaning, cooking, and caring for her baby. She often neglected herself, which ultimately led to Hank’s dissatisfaction.

Serenity had often scolded her sister for neglecting her appearance after marriage, but Liberty had insisted there was no need to dress up anymore now that she was married. Now, however, she realized that a woman must prioritize self-love.

Just then, there was a knock at the door. Mrs. Lane hurried to answer it. It was Duncan, carrying another basket of fruit and a bouquet, and he was followed by Lily. Lily had visited Liberty twice during her hospital stay, each time bringing meals.

Mrs. Lewis was accompanied by Duncan for her first visit here.

“Mr. Lewis,” she acknowledged.

Mrs. Lane stepped aside to allow Duncan and Lily to enter.

“Missus, it’s Mr. Lewis and Ms. Harmon,” she announced.

Serenity’s striking eyes momentarily darted to her sister. Noticing the absence of any suspicion on Liberty’s face, she collected herself and greeted Duncan and Lily with her characteristic smile.

Chapter 1435 Liberty sat on the bed, no longer dependent on IV drips all day, needing only two bags each […]

[20

post-13654","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-married-at-first-sight
["GET
