She never even got to see her sister one last time.

Zachary hugged Serenity tightly, offering her support and comfort.

“Seren, Liberty will be fine. She’ll wake up soon. Everything will be alright.”

“Don’t worry. We still need to help her take care of Sonny. He’s terrified.”

Serenity was so frightened that she couldn’t stop crying. Zachary’s reassurance had little effect, but when he mentioned Sonny, her cries began to soften.

Yes, she still needed to assist her sister with Sonny.

After crying for a while, Serenity managed to compose herself and took the tissue Zachary offered to wipe her tears. She then stepped out of his embrace and walked toward Sonny, who had been held by Hank.

“Aunt Ser.”

Sonny reached out his hands towards Serenity.

Serenity picked him up and held him close.

“Serenity, I’m so sorry,”

Hank said apologetically. He felt guilty; it was his fault for not carrying Sonny and trying to pull him away from Liberty.

If anything happened to Liberty or if Sonny were taken away, he would blame himself for the rest of his life.

Serenity held her nephew and turned to return to Zachary’s side, choosing not to respond to Hank.

Hank was consumed by guilt.

Mrs. Brown wanted to say something but was restrained by Mr. Brown.

Any comment they made now would be inappropriate.

Serenity must have despised their son.

Jessica felt even more afraid and tried hard to blend into the background.

“Aunt Ser, is Mom going to die?” Sonny asked in fear.

The thought of his mother…

The sight of blood frightened him. Serenity held her nephew’s head in her arms, hugging his trembling body tightly. In a hoarse voice, she reassured him, “No, your mom will have a long life. She’s not going to die. She loves you so much, Sonny. She’ll be there for you as you go to school and grow up. She won’t leave you behind.”

“Aunt Ser, I’m so scared,” he admitted.

“Don’t be scared. I’m here, so there’s no need to be afraid. She pressed Sonny’s head against her arms once more, hugging him tightly as he clung to her neck.

The emergency room door opened again, and Liberty was wheeled out. Serenity rushed over, still holding her nephew. However, the nurses blocked her path, urging, “Family members, please step aside. The patient needs to be transferred to the ICU first.”

Zachary quickly pulled Serenity out of the way.

They headed to the ICU together, but the medical staff didn’t allow family members to enter.

Serenity caught sight of her sister lying motionless on the hospital bed, her face pale. Tears flowed down her cheeks once more.

A small hand gently wiped her tears. “Aunt Ser, don’t cry. Mom will be fine,” Sonny said, though his own face was already wet with tears. He understood that his mom had lost a lot of blood because of him.

“Mm, I won’t cry. I just got some dust in my eyes,” Serenity replied, freeing one hand to dry her tears.

Chapter 1393 Serenity’s words brought Mrs. Stone to tears as well.
