To them, Camryn was insignificant; no one would investigate her death, even if she were terminally ill.

Ten years ago, Camryn would have died in her mother’s care if her aunt hadn’t visited and taken her to the hospital.

Callum and Camryn were aware of Mr. and Mrs. Newman’s discussions about arranging a marriage between Callum and Camryn.

Callum observed as Camryn sat in silence.

She clasped her hands together and remained wordless for an extended period.

While she had suspected that her father’s death was connected to Mr. and Mrs. Newman, her thoughts were merely conjecture without any solid evidence.

Now that she had confirmation from them, her mind felt blank, and her limbs turned cold.

Camryn struggled to understand why her father’s wife and brother would want him dead. Had the affair between Mr. and Mrs. Newman begun from the very start?

Her mother could have chosen divorce had infidelity been involved.

“What do you plan to do?” Callum asked suddenly.

Unable to bear the pallor on her face, Callum went to pour her a glass of water.

Camryn drank it quickly.

“Mr. Callum, do you think the voice recording is sufficient to incriminate them?”

Callum responded, “It’s difficult because they could argue it was said in anger. They might challenge the authenticity of your recording, but it will serve as a crucial piece of evidence when combined with other proof. Do you have anything else against them?”

Camryn shook her head.

She was only two when her father died.

What could she possibly know?

From what she remembered, her childhood was filled with abuse from her mother and sister, as

Camryn was filled with confusion. She couldn’t understand why her mother, despite being her biological parent, could not love her. Mrs. Newman never held her or spoke to her with kindness. Gradually, Camryn became numb to her mother’s indifference, ceasing to long for her affection. All she wanted was to focus on her studies and escape her home as soon as she could.

She might never have suspected anything unusual if it weren’t for the rumor surrounding her father’s unnatural death. This revelation led her to realize the reason behind her mother’s lack of love. It spurred Camryn to investigate further and gather evidence, but she was too hasty at that time. At just sixteen, she was vulnerable, with her mother and stepfather having complete control over her. It was reckless to think she could act independently without their knowledge.

They truly intended to harm her. Perhaps losing her sight was a blessing in disguise. The hospital saved her life, but she would not have survived if her aunt had not intervened. Her aunt wanted to help, but her mother vehemently opposed it, claiming that her sister was overstepping by trying to assume Mrs. Newman’s maternal role.

As a blind individual trapped at home, Camryn felt powerless. “I don’t have any other proof,” she said softly. “I tried to gather evidence ten years ago, but it cost me my sight. In return, all I experienced was their cruelty.”

“Serenity advised that my priority should be to regain my eyesight. I can search for proof again once I can see. She suggested that I keep my family in the dark about my recovery.”

Being blind had inadvertently made it easier for her to gather evidence. “Is it possible to regain your sight with a corneal transplant?” she was asked.

“My blindness stems from drug use. My aunt took me for an examination before, and the doctor explained that a corneal transplant wouldn’t be very effective in my case. I had…”

Many doctors have examined me, but only one provided effective treatment. Unfortunately, that doctor has since passed away. I can see a glimmer of light, but everything else remains a blur.

Chapter 1382 Mr. and Mrs. Newman wanted to eliminate Camryn because she questioned the circumstances surrounding her father’s death.
