On the other end of the line, Hank said, \u201cSonny is my three-year-old son, so what\u2019s wrong with him being my flower boy? Where are you and Sonny? I\u2019m outside your rented unit and have been knocking on the door, but no one is answering. You\u2019re not inside, are you?\u201d<\/div>\n
Jessica stood beside him, listening to his conversation with Liberty.<\/div>\n
After taking a few days to recover from her altercation with her sister-in-law, the bruises on her face had faded.<\/div>\n
Hank had bought two additional sets of skincare products for Jessica and, somewhat reluctantly, gifted her a jewelry set to win her over.<\/div>\n
Furthermore, he informed his parents and sister that he and Jessica had obtained their marriage license and that Jessica intended to spend her life with him. With the wedding approaching, he requested that they refrain from bothering Jessica any further.<\/div>\n
He also held them accountable for his previous divorce from Liberty, asking his parents, \u201cDo you want me to go through another divorce? Consider the cost of my divorce from Liberty. Are you really hoping for that?\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cIf I divorce again, I would become a laughingstock. People would say I deserve it and that it\u2019s karma. They\u2019ll label me as a twice-divorced man. Moreover, if you continue to clash with Jessica and create problems, who would want to let their daughter marry me? You\u2019re my family, yet you seem more interested in dragging me down than supporting me. Will you only be satisfied if I end up alone for the rest of my life?\u201d<\/div>\n
After hearing his words, Hank\u2019s parents fell silent. They also began preparing meals for Jessica.<\/div>\n
As for Hank\u2019s sister, who had been causing trouble, their father expelled her from the house. He instructed her not to return to the city until the wedding day.<\/div>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going to pick up Sonny,\u201d Jessica said softly. <\/p>\n

As long as Sonny was removed from Liberty\u2019s presence, someone would \u201csnatch\u201d him from Hank and Jessica. <\/p>\n

Jessica was eager to resolve this situation quickly; she didn\u2019t want to carry the burden of it during her wedding. Her resentment grew due to the way her in-laws treated her compared to Liberty and her son. If Sonny were no longer part of the equation, how could the Browns still long for Liberty and Hank to remarry? <\/p>\n

Jessica had managed to win Hank over. Even though he was no longer a manager, he gave her most of his earnings from driving for Uber. Hank was her man and her husband now, and she would defend her marriage fiercely. She was determined never to follow the same path as Liberty. <\/p>\n

Liberty had a sister who married into a wealthy family and could offer assistance, but Jessica did not have that support. She didn\u2019t want to be the subject of ridicule; she didn\u2019t want people to think she had gained nothing after eliminating Hank\u2019s first wife and that her in-laws were united against her. <\/p>\n

She believed her in-laws were only entertaining wild notions because of Sonny. They must think that if Hank and Jessica separated, he might remarry Liberty. The Browns were simply whimsical. What did they think Liberty was worth? And how did they view Hank? <\/p>\n

Did they believe Hank was as desirable as a widely sought-after currency? Did they think Liberty was easy to manipulate and would always be at their beck and call? Liberty had loved Hank once, but that love was long gone. She was clear-headed now, so why would she return to the Browns and become trapped in their chaotic lives?<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you there?\u201d Hank signaled for Jessica to be quiet. He turned to Liberty and asked, \u201cLiberty, are you listening? Where are you and Sonny right now?\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m at Seren\u2019s place. Where are you taking Sonny to try on his suit? Why does a little kid need to try one on? As his father, you could just buy him a small suit.\u201d<\/p>\n
