However, he still wanted her to take him inside.

Josh remarked, “There’s no need to rush in. Your friend hasn’t arrived yet; I didn’t see his car parked at the entrance.”

“It’s not just Zachary. I didn’t see the Stone family’s car, either. They’re not as punctual as I am,” Jasmine replied.

Jasmine wasn’t convinced. “Maybe their cars are in the underground parking lot.”

“If you don’t believe me, just ask the lobby manager,” Josh suggested.

Jasmine pursed her lips and released Josh’s hand to take his arm instead, saying, “Alright, let’s go inside.”

Josh happily led Jasmine into the hotel.

Callum, an old acquaintance, stood at the hotel entrance, but Josh didn’t acknowledge him.

Callum was left speechless.

Such were the woes of being a bachelor.

No matter how close a friendship, once one partner entered a relationship, the other seemed to fade away.

Fortunately, he was only making excuses.

It wasn’t that he wasn’t attracted to Camryn; he simply didn’t want Mr. and Mrs. Newman to see that he cared about her.

He turned back toward the hotel.

Inside, he noticed Mrs. Newman and his fiancée chatting with other women. Many guests were surprised to see Mrs. Newman with Camryn.

Those with insight quickly understood the reason.

At twenty-six years old, Camryn was of marrying age. Mrs. Newman’s sudden appearance with her likely indicated that she was hoping to find a husband for her daughter.

Although Camryn was attractive, her family treated her as if she were invisible. Additionally, as a blind woman, she managed to sustain herself by opening a flower shop and earning a modest living.

The women disapproved of such circumstances, and no one was willing to marry their son to Camryn. Most importantly, she was blind.

Callum spotted his mother in the crowd and whispered a few words to her. She glanced at Camryn, who was being led away by Mrs. Newman, and told her son, “Go take care of your business. I’ll look after my future daughter-in-law.”

If those women discovered that Camryn, the blind woman they scorned, had long been designated as the future Mrs. York, their eyes would widen in disbelief.

“I wonder if Mr. and Mrs. York will arrive together,” one person remarked.

Another chimed in, “We’ll find out when Mr. York shows up later.”

“Perhaps Mrs. York will come with Mrs. Stone again. If that happens…”

That comment trailed off, as if they were anticipating a spectacle.

If Serenity, the York family matriarch, appeared tonight alongside Mrs. Stone, it would be a public embarrassment for Zachary and the entire York family.

“No matter how clueless Mrs. York may be, she can’t be that oblivious, right?” someone whispered.

“Why not? She grew up in the countryside and is unfamiliar with the world. It’s natural for her to be intimidated. Since Mrs. Stone is her aunt, she’ll feel safe following her. Someone like her isn’t likely to think ahead.”

The speaker clearly harbored animosity toward Serenity.

GO Chapter 1329 The Wiltspoon Hotel was owned by York Corporation, where Josh, the administrative executive, came and went daily.
