He nudged Duncan and whispered, “Mom is looking at you. I think she wants you to do something.”

Duncan turned to his mother and smiled. “What’s up, Mom?”

Why was she looking at him like that?

“Lily wants to go for a stroll. You should accompany her.”

Mrs. Lewis did not expect her son to appreciate her concern, so she spoke plainly, instructing him to take a walk with Lily.

Duncan looked at Lily and said, “Ms. Harmon, you’ve been living in my home for a while now, so you should be familiar with the area. You can’t go very far, so you can just walk by yourself. You won’t get lost.”

Mrs. Lewis’s expression darkened, and she felt like throwing something at Duncan.

Lily smiled. “Yes, I won’t get lost, but walking alone is boring. I’d like a companion to chat with as I walk.”

“Can you come with me?”

With all eyes on him, Duncan felt the urge to refuse, but he swallowed the words back down.

He replied, “The sun is directly overhead. It’s too hot.”

It was not evening yet.

The weather in Wiltspoon began to warm up around March to April, and many switched to short-sleeved shirts by May, eagerly anticipating the use of their electric fans.

“It’s breezy today, and not hot at all,” Mrs. Lewis said. “Lily is our guest, so you must walk with her.”

Duncan looked at his three brothers, hoping they would come to his aid.

They averted their gaze and refused to meet his eyes. With no other option, Duncan stood up and said to Lily, “Let’s go, Ms. Harmon. I’ll accompany you for a walk outside.” Lily smiled and replied, “Thank you for taking the time, Duncan.” Observing the two as they left together, Mrs. Lewis happily remarked to her husband, “Those two are a perfect match. Duncan just doesn’t realize it. Lily is a wonderful girl, and if he doesn’t make a move, someone else will take her.”

“He only has this advantage because I’m good friends with Lily’s mother,” she added. Derek smiled and said, “Don’t pressure him too much. Duncan is so intimidated by you that he moved in with Zachary.”

“That brat… I’ll talk to Zachary tonight and ask him to send Duncan packing,” she said.

“Mom, I don’t think Duncan is interested in Ms. Harmon,” said their eldest son, Emmett.

The second son, Kyle, interjected, “Mom, you can’t force feelings. If Duncan doesn’t like Ms. Harmon, don’t push him into a relationship. If it’s not meant to be, it’s not meant to be. I don’t think Ms. Harmon is the type to appreciate being coerced into romance.”

Lily was a woman with her own views. She only allowed her parents to set her up with Duncan because she was genuinely interested in him. However, that didn’t mean she wanted to be pressured into a relationship. If she couldn’t win over Duncan, she would let go. She would never marry a man who did not love her.

“They haven’t even given it a chance yet, so how can they know they won’t develop feelings for each other? It’s because you always defend him that he still doesn’t have a wife at thirty-six. He’ll be forty in a few years, while some people will already have grandchildren, and he doesn’t even have a girlfriend.”

Chapter 1316 Lily had a habit of taking a stroll after meals.
