You seem worn out. That reminds me, why did you come over? It must be tiring for you to make these back-and-forth trips.\u201d <\/p>\n

The distance from York Corporation to the Stones\u2019 residence was significantly greater than Zachary\u2019s journey to Wiltspoon Hotel. <\/p>\n

If he stuck to his usual lunchtime routine, Zachary could squeeze in a quick afternoon nap. However, now that he was at the Stones\u2019 home, he would need to hurry back to the office after lunch, leaving him only enough time for a brief rest in the car. <\/p>\n

Serenity chuckled and replied, \u201cWe leave home together every morning. Yet, you still miss me.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI miss you every time you\u2019re not with me. I can\u2019t stop thinking about you, and I find it hard to focus on anything when you\u2019re far away and won\u2019t be home for days.\u201d <\/p>\n

Serenity might not fully believe him, but his affectionate words made her feel cherished. <\/p>\n

When she wasn\u2019t around, he devoted himself entirely to his job, pushing his employees to their limits. <\/p>\n

\u201cIs Clive still being a jerk?\u201d Zachary asked with a frown. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe managed to get through to him. At least he stopped insisting on Alice having an abortion. Aunt Audrey and my sister explained that the procedure would only harm Alice. He didn\u2019t want that for her, so he dropped the subject. I heard from Elisa that he had been pressing her for days.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cAunt Audrey was really put off by his attitude. Pregnancy is tough enough as it is. Men should appreciate and love their wives who are willing to bear their children.\u201d <\/p>\n

Pregnancy was no easy feat for women, and childbirth could even be life-threatening. Women were essentially risking their lives to bring new life into the world. <\/p>\n

Stopping in his tracks, Zachary turned to look deeply into Serenity\u2019s eyes, filled with affection. \u201cI<\/p>\n

\u201cI will always love and cherish you, Seren.\u201d <\/p>\n

Serenity smiled. \u201cWe haven\u2019t been married for a year yet. We\u2019re still in our honeymoon phase. Only time will tell if you can cherish me forever.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI will spend a lifetime proving my love to you.\u201d <\/p>\n

Lowering his head, Zachary placed a warm kiss on her forehead. As she closed her eyes to savor the sweet moment, he pulled her into his arms and pressed his lips against hers. <\/p>\n

However, he quickly released her, aware that they were at the Stones\u2019 residence. Serenity didn\u2019t share his boldness. <\/p>\n

\u201cCome on, let\u2019s have lunch.\u201d <\/p>\n

Free from his embrace, Serenity opened her eyes and intertwined her fingers with his once more as they approached the magnificent house.<\/p>\n
