I’d say she’s a very capable and independent woman, someone you can truly trust.”

Noticing the calmness in Liberty’s response, Mrs. Lewis remarked, “You’re quite skilled at reading people, aren’t you? I agree that Lily is indeed an independent woman. After graduating from university, she joined her family’s company and worked her way up from the ground level while keeping her identity a secret.”

“She climbed the corporate ladder and is now the vice president. People only discovered she was the chairman’s daughter and the younger sister of the president after she achieved her promotion. She is a remarkable talent and the daughter of a good friend of mine.”

After briefly introducing Lily, Mrs. Lewis casually inquired, “I’m planning to introduce her to my son, Duncan. What do you think, Liberty? Do they make a good match?”

Liberty spoke her mind honestly, saying, “Given their backgrounds, they do seem like a compatible pair. I think it’s a great idea since they could collaborate well in the workplace. As for appearances, even though Duncan has had that accident, he should look fine once his scar is treated. He would look good alongside Lily.”

“I believe he would be interested in Lily as well.”

Duncan had built everything he had on his own and would appreciate a self-made woman.

and an independent woman. From Mrs. Lewis’s descriptions, Liberty felt that Duncan would be quite interested in a girl named Lily. She found it intriguing that Mrs. Lewis was attempting to set Duncan up with this lady.

Mrs. Lewis noticed that Liberty had expressed her opinions sincerely, without any attempt to hide her thoughts. Throughout the conversation, Liberty remained natural and seemed to have spoken her mind. Based on this, Mrs. Lewis concluded that Liberty had no romantic interest in Duncan.

Mrs. Lewis held a low opinion of Liberty and refused to entertain the idea of her son being involved with her. This perspective persisted despite Liberty steadily losing weight and regaining her former charm, as well as successfully building her business. If she continued on this path, she would soon start to see profits and emerge as a successful businesswoman.

However, Mrs. Lewis did not respect Liberty’s humble background. As a divorced woman with a child, she believed Liberty was unworthy of her son. Still, she found it difficult to accept that Liberty did not harbor any feelings for Duncan, not even the slightest.

Mrs. Lewis reflected on Liberty’s failed marriage. It had only been a few months since Liberty’s divorce, and her situation seemed to be improving at last. Given this context, it made perfect sense that entering another relationship would be the last thing on Liberty’s mind; she clearly had other priorities to focus on.

Mrs. Lewis had come to give Liberty a hard time, but her efforts proved to be unproductive, leaving her somewhat at a loss. “I do think they would make a good match as well; the problem is that Duncan keeps telling me he’s too busy with work and doesn’t seem very open to my suggestion.”

“Spending time with Lily troubles me greatly,” Mrs. Lewis said with an exasperated sigh. “He’s already thirty-six, so he can’t be considered young and spry anymore. As his parent, how can I avoid worrying about his future?”

Liberty offered her sympathy and advised, “Mrs. Lewis, these matters can’t be rushed; forcing them can make things worse. For now, let Lily and Mr. Lewis spend more time together and allow their relationship to develop naturally. Things will eventually progress more quickly.”

Mrs. Lewis suddenly added, “Lily’s last name is Harmon. She’s not from Wiltspoon; she came here to explore the market and secure some investments. Her family is looking to expand their business by launching some small-scale ventures.”

“I believe there will be many opportunities for them to see each other in the future, especially since Lily has several projects she’s interested in and plans to collaborate with Duncan. I’m not entirely sure how things are progressing, and frankly, I’m not too concerned about the business side of it. I just hope Duncan spends more time with her.”

Chapter 1267 “Mrs. Lewis.” After Liberty glanced at the picture, she returned it to Mrs. Lewis.
