Let me see. I can help you put them together.”

Sonny quickly slid down from his father’s arms, dashed to a shelf filled with toys, and retrieved a box of Legos he had been unable to assemble.

Hank saw the set of blocks and internally cursed Duncan for his devious intentions.

Sonny was still quite young, not even three yet. Despite his intelligence, how could he manage something so complex?

Duncan had intentionally given Sonny a difficult Lego set to create an opportunity to teach him and get closer to Liberty, right?

What a shameless move!

He was using Sonny as a means to connect with Liberty!

Hank mentally cursed Duncan countless times.

Liberty invited the couple to sit down, poured them each a cup of warm water, and said, “I’m busy. Just leave the invitation here. If I have time that day, I’ll bring Sonny and attend your wedding.”

Since they weren’t worried about her potentially ruining the wedding and still invited her, she planned to attend.

What was there to fear?

Of course, she wouldn’t sabotage their wedding.

Only those who were bitter try to ruin someone else’s special day. She had no reason to be upset; in fact, she was pleased to be divorced from Hank.

Jessica could now experience life with the Brown family as her in-laws.

Liberty boldly claimed that Jessica would come to regret it.

Not many women could tolerate in-laws like Olivia and Chelsea. Moreover, everyone knew Jessica was a homewrecker. If she didn’t marry Hank, finding a good man would be challenging.

Additionally, Jessica had always seen Hank and Liberty’s divorce as her victory, so without marrying Hank, she wouldn’t feel triumphant.

“What are you doing, Liberty?”

Jessica forced a smile.

and asked, “Is there anything I can assist you with?”
“No, thank you.”
Liberty declined her offer.
Jessica unapologetically followed Liberty into the kitchen, where she was meal prepping.
“Liberty, your store wasn’t open when I went there this morning. Did something happen?” Jessica inquired.
Liberty didn’t even glance at her. “That’s none of your business.”
Jessica was taken aback.
After a lengthy pause, she asked cautiously, “Liberty, has Mr. York received any updates on the kidnappers? I spoke with the police, but they said they couldn’t locate them. I still feel weak at the thought of that day. Thank goodness Sonny is okay.”
Liberty met her gaze. “Leave this to the police. They’ll inform us if they uncover anything.”
Even Hank, the father, only called to ask if Sonny had nightmares following the incident. He visited Serenity to express his gratitude but didn’t inquire about anything else.
Meanwhile, Jessica, the stepmother, was worried about the follow-up.
Liberty remained skeptical about Jessica’s true intentions.
The Brown family was attempting to regain custody of Sonny, and Jessica knew she couldn’t escape her role as a stepmother. Was her concern for Sonny merely a façade for the Brown family to witness?
That woman had been so arrogant in the past.
She and Hank hadn’t even held their wedding yet. Had she already resigned herself to not having a child of her own?
Jessica stated, “Mr. Bucham specializes in gathering information. I thought they might be more effective than the police and could find the kidnappers first. Perhaps they could apprehend them before the police do.”
Liberty continued to tenderize the meat, remaining silent.
Even if she had information, she would not share it with Jessica.
She had never relinquished custody of Sonny before, and she wouldn’t now.

Don’t give up in the future either!

Chapter 1254 “What blocks did he give you?
