Why does he need the menu?’

Callum paid no mind to the waiter’s thoughts. He opened the menu, read the names and prices of the dishes to Camryn, and allowed her to place the order.

“You can order anything you like, Mr. Callum,” she said.

Since the meal was on Camryn, she encouraged him to choose whatever he wanted.

“You only brought a few hundred dollars. I’m concerned that the food I choose might be too expensive,” Camryn replied quietly. Then she added, “Didn’t you say you could lend me the money?”

Callum chuckled. “I did mention that, but you seem reluctant to owe me anything. Let’s just stick to some less expensive options.”

Camryn didn’t argue as she listened to him suggest a few reasonably priced dishes.

The waiter noted their orders and said politely, “Please hold on for a moment.”

Callum replied, “There’s no need to hurry. I don’t have any plans later, so it’s fine if the food takes a while.”

Camryn thought to herself, ‘You’re not in a rush, but I am.’

However, as the host, she couldn’t voice her thoughts.

After the waiter departed, Callum inquired, “How has business been lately?”

“It’s going okay,” Camryn responded.

“Competition is fierce. Where do you source your goods?”

Camryn asked, “Why are you asking this, Mr. Callum? Are you considering opening a flower shop?”

“I was thinking of helping you find a more affordable supplier so you can increase your profits.”

“Thank you, but I’ve been with my supplier for years, and he always provides me with the best prices.” The supplier has always given her the best…

After discovering that she was blind, Camryn found herself contemplating her relationship with Callum. They had worked together successfully for many years, and she had no desire to change her supplier. Moreover, accepting his offer would create a sense of obligation, as she owed him a favor for the two large orders he had given her. To repay him, she had treated him to a meal, and she didn’t want to be indebted to him again so soon after just settling one favor. Most importantly, they were not close, and she still couldn’t understand Callum’s motives for wanting to engage with her.

As the eldest daughter of the Newman family, she felt her status was more akin to that of a servant, diminishing any perceived value in Callum’s approach. With his elevated position, it seemed unlikely that he would need to use her to achieve any goals.

“That’s good,” Callum remarked, considering asking the housekeeper responsible for the manor’s flowers and plants to deliver some to her for a small fee. However, he sensed that she would refuse, especially since she preferred to maintain her existing supplier. He decided not to press the issue.

“Mr. Callum, may I ask you a question?” Camryn inquired.

“Of course,” he replied.

“Why do you want to help me?”

Callum smiled and replied, “Take a guess.”

Camryn responded honestly, “I can’t.”

“Well, if you can’t guess, that’s alright. In any case, I have no intention of harming you.”

After a brief silence, Camryn said, “But I don’t want to owe you a favor.” They had no familial ties, and she suspected he had ulterior motives for offering assistance. Yet, he remained vague, leaving her unable to decipher his intentions. She disliked the feeling of being at his mercy.

Chapter 1248 Callum reserved a private room.
