I can’t take your place. After all, I’m just the daughter of Mrs. Lewis’s friend; I’m not family.”

“I’m not particularly fond of social events either, but we often have no choice. We must fulfill our obligations.”

Duncan had attended numerous business parties primarily to network. Before Lewis & Co. flourished, he needed to participate in these engagements to secure partnerships.

Now a well-known company in Wiltspoon, Lewis & Co. allowed Duncan to focus on significant contracts with other CEOs, while his management team handled smaller transactions.

He began attending fewer gatherings unless his two close friends were present.

In their company, Duncan would make brief appearances.

However, Zachary often failed to attend, which contributed to Duncan’s diminished presence at social events.

“Who is organizing the event? Where is it being held?” Duncan inquired.

Lily answered, “Mrs. Lewis mentioned it’s Old Mr. Dawson. The party will take place at the Wiltspoon Hotel.”

Upon hearing Old Mr. Dawson’s name, Duncan had no further objections.

While the Dawsons were not as affluent as the Yorks, they ranked among the top ten wealthiest families in Wiltspoon. Old Mr. Dawson was a personable gentleman, and his family maintained a low profile in the community.

The influential figures in Wiltspoon’s corporate scene respected Aaron Dawson, making it a point to attend his gatherings. Even Zachary could be spotted at the old man’s events.

The Dawsons and the Yorks shared a friendly relationship. Zachary had attended Old Mr. Dawson’s business gathering last year, the same event at Wiltspoon Hotel that Serenity went to with Jasmine and Mrs. Lowe when Zachary and Serenity first met.

Married.

Zachary’s appearance caused quite a stir. Jasmine tried to see what the excitement was about but couldn’t push her way through the crowd. Meanwhile, Serenity was tucked away in a corner, indulging in food.

“Go ahead to your meeting, Duncan. I’ll take care of the food containers and head out,” Lily reminded him about his meeting.

“Sure,” he replied, but he waited until Lily finished washing the containers before exiting the office with her.

As the secretary saw Lily off at the lift, Duncan turned around and strode into the meeting room close to his office.

After leaving Lewis & Co., Lily suddenly hit the brakes when she drove past All You Can Eat. She parked on the street and got out to ask someone in the shop next to the diner.

<div me do you know who owns this breakfast diner lily asked gently.>

The person responded, “Oh, you mean Liberty? She’s away today dealing with personal matters in her hometown, so the diner is closed. You’ll have to come back tomorrow if you want to try her breakfast. Her food is amazing, and her place is always clean, which is why her business is thriving.”

Since the diner opened, many neighbors of All You Can Eat had frequently dined there.

Liberty was the owner of the breakfast diner.

Despite her surprise, Lily kept her emotions in check. She thanked the person, returned to her car, and drove away.

Instead of going elsewhere, she drove straight to the Lewises’ residence.

Chapter 1235 Lily anticipated Duncan’s response.
