She extended her hand toward Sonny and said, \u201cSonny, give me your toy.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>\u201cThis is mine!\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Sonny clung to the Lego box like it was glued to him.<\/div>\n<div>Chelsea attempted to take the toy from Sonny when Liberty intervened, grabbing a kitchen utensil and striking Chelsea\u2019s wrist. The sudden pain made Chelsea pull back her arm.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cWhat are you doing, Liberty?\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Liberty frowned. \u201cI should be asking you that. That\u2019s Sonny\u2019s toy. He gets to decide if he wants to share it with Lucas. Why are you taking a toy from a child?\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Chelsea was left speechless.<\/div>\n<div>With a disapproving look, Mr. Brown scolded his daughter. After Chelsea led her son to a corner, Mr. Brown gently said, \u201cLiberty, it\u2019s okay if Sonny doesn\u2019t want to share. We\u2019re taking Sonny to the zoo today to see the tigers.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>He then turned to his son, asking, \u201cSonny, do you want to go to the zoo with Dad?\u201d<\/div>\n<div>With bright eyes, Sonny asked, \u201cIs Mom going too, Dad?\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Hank looked at Liberty before responding with a smile, \u201cMom is coming along too.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>\u201cLiberty, you should close up early today. We can have breakfast at your place and then head to the zoo. It\u2019s an hour\u2019s drive, so we need to leave early to give the kids more time to enjoy it.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Wiltspoon Zoo was vast and home to numerous animals.<\/div>\n<div>Hank had visited the zoo once before.<\/p>\n<p>It was a weekend when he first started dating Liberty, and Serenity, still a teenager at the time, tagged along. Liberty initially planned to let her son go on a zoo trip with her former in-laws. However, her mind changed when she noticed Lucas. She worried that if she didn\u2019t accompany them, Lucas might tease Sonny. Kneeling to meet her son\u2019s gaze, Liberty asked, \u201cDo you want to go, Sonny?\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Sonny eagerly replied, \u201cI want to go, Mom! I want to go with Mom and Dad to the zoo.\u201d He glanced at Jessica, puzzled about why this woman was always around his father when his mom had always stood by him in the past.<\/p>\n<p>Hank encouraged, \u201cCome on, Liberty. We\u2019ve never taken our son to the zoo. Let\u2019s go together. Sonny has been wanting to see the tigers.\u201d Mr. and Mrs. Brown echoed their son\u2019s suggestion, trying to persuade Liberty to join the family outing.<\/p>\n<p>In truth, Liberty had little desire to spend time with her ex-husband\u2019s family. However, she didn\u2019t want to ruin her son\u2019s idea of fun. She reluctantly said, \u201cI can leave after the customers finish their meals.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>With his mom\u2019s approval, Sonny jumped for joy and urged her, \u201cCall Aunt Ser, Mom! Tell Aunt Ser to join us!\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The Browns were taken aback; their only son never failed to include his aunt in everything. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not sure if your aunt is available,\u201d Liberty replied, but she decided to call Serenity anyway.
