Mr. Brown felt a sense of blame toward his wife, daughter, and himself. As the head of the family, he realized that if he had been fairer, things might not have turned out this way. He recognized that Liberty was a more suitable partner but had never defended her when his wife or daughter criticized her in front of his son. He acknowledged that he wasn\u2019t a good person either. <\/p>\n
