Zachary would not go to extremes for Serenity if he could easily win her affection. He recalled what Mrs. Lane had told him: he loved the person Serenity had become. If she changed, she would no longer be the same person he fell in love with, and that was integral to her character.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t have a love rival. I\u2019d be jealous if there was a strong contender after you. I\u2019d worry someone might steal you away from me, but I\u2019m not that great after all,\u201d Serenity stated matter-of-factly, asserting that she had no rivals in love.<\/p>\n

Sure, many women desired him, but none had the courage to confess their feelings to Zachary. Serenity had never even met these women, and there had never been any conflicts. Her romantic life had been smooth as she monopolized all of Zachary\u2019s affection. He devoted all his love and care to her.<\/p>\n

With that in mind, Serenity felt fortunate. She had someone who truly loved her! She was so lucky that she could happily dream at night, enveloped in the love of an extraordinary man.<\/p>\n

Zachary affectionately held her and teased, \u201cWould you be nervous if I had someone challenge you for me?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t even think about it. If someone approached me saying, \u2018Serenity, Zachary\u2019s mine. What\u2019s it going to take for you to let him go?\u2019 I\u2019d just name a price and sell you off. I could live quite well with that money. Hahaha!\u201d <\/p>\n

Both the chauffeur and Jim were left speechless. It was a risky topic to discuss. The chauffeur considered stopping the car and taking cover but ultimately lacked the courage to do so. Jim wished he could disappear, though that was not an option. Just when they expected their boss to explode with anger, Zachary simply\u2026<\/p>\n

He scowled, unwilling to vent his anger on his wife. Ultimately, he pulled her close, capturing her lips in a passionate kiss. <\/p>\n

\u201cNo one has ever tried to betray me, Serenity. Don\u2019t you dare do that,\u201d he warned. <\/p>\n

Serenity smiled playfully. \u201cI was just joking. It takes two to tango. Your admirers won\u2019t get anywhere unless you allow them. Similarly, you\u2019d be all over these women if you were a playboy.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cBut I trust you. You\u2019re a straight guy who struggles to talk to women. Besides, you didn\u2019t fall head over heels for Elisa. You probably think it\u2019s a waste of time to consider other heiresses.\u201d <\/p>\n

To Serenity, Elisa was a wonderful girl. She believed that Elisa and Zachary would be perfect for each other if she weren\u2019t in the picture. <\/p>\n

Gently pinching her cheek, Zachary said, \u201cMy heart can only hold so much. I already have you. I need to make sure you\u2019re comfortable, so you\u2019ll be stuck in my heart and unable to leave. If you can\u2019t leave, others can\u2019t come in. You\u2019re meant to be my wife in this lifetime.\u201d He secretly hoped they would find each other again in the next life. <\/p>\n

Serenity replied earnestly, \u201cMy heart isn\u2019t big enough to accept anyone else. You\u2019re a big boy; you\u2019re blocking anyone from entering.\u201d <\/p>\n

Zachary chuckled. <\/p>\n

Though she might not love him as deeply as he loved her, her love was genuine and unique. Serenity had turned down Shawn\u2019s affections. She often mentioned him without realizing his feelings, having always seen Shawn as a brother. <\/p>\n

Once she discovered his feelings, she ceased talking about him, and Shawn became a thing of the past for the couple.<\/p>\n
