He intended to isolate Liberty from society, leaving her with no source of income and turning her into a faded woman in her early thirties.

Compared to many housewives who faced similar situations, Liberty was exceptionally brave. She decisively severed her ties with Hank.

She refused to compromise for the sake of her child.

While divorce might be harmful to the child, remaining together amidst constant conflict would be equally detrimental, creating a lack of peace at home.

Divorce was the better option, allowing her to raise her son alone. As long as she dedicated herself to teaching him, she could raise him to be a confident individual.

Mrs. Lane placed a plate of eggs and bacon in front of Hank.

Hank snapped back to reality. His life with Jessica was happy and fulfilling. Though there were some family conflicts, the couple was still in the adjustment phase. He anticipated a better life with her once they settled down.

He enjoyed his breakfast peacefully.

He offered Sonny some food, but the little boy refused to share the same fork. He insisted on using his own fork and speared a piece of bacon on his own. He didn’t need Hank to feed him; he even thought the saliva on his dad’s fork was dirty!

“Sonny knows how to feed himself now. What a good boy! Lucas still needs your Aunt Chelsea to feed him,” Hank thought, feeling proud that his son was more independent than his nephew.

After a while, Liberty finished cooking Hank’s mushroom soup and asked Mrs. Lane to serve it.

Hank requested a small bowl and served his son some soup.

The father and son enjoyed their meal together with delight.

As time went by, the morning rush hour came to an end, and fewer people…

People arrived for breakfast. Mrs. Lane and Liberty finally found a moment to rest. The father and son continued to eat, chewing slowly as if they didn’t have teeth. Liberty busied herself with cleaning the dishes and wiping down the tables, allowing Hank and his son their bonding time. There was no need to involve innocent children in the grievances of their parents.

Suddenly, the glass door swung open. Liberty and Mrs. Lane instinctively turned to see who had entered.

Chapter 1101
3/3

It was Jessica. Mrs. Lane quietly fetched a broom, ready to help Liberty if the woman dared to stir up trouble in the shop. As Jessica walked in, she noticed that Hank was indeed at his ex-wife’s shop, sharing breakfast with his son. To Mrs. Lane’s surprise, despite Jessica’s unhappy demeanor, she was not aggressive like during her previous visits. She didn’t seem to catch the ex-couple in any compromising situation.

“I came to find my husband,” Jessica said indifferently to Liberty before heading straight to Hank.

“Hank,” Jessica called out as she approached him.

Hank, finally having the chance to enjoy time with his son, dropped his fork in shock upon hearing his wife’s voice. Fortunately, he had already finished eating. It had been a long time since he had such a delicious breakfast—more accurately, he really missed the Hunt sisters’ incredible cooking.

Chapter

Chapter 1101 Hank acknowledged that he was a bad man.
