Serenity and Zachary had become like an old married couple.<\/div>\n
Some time later, Serenity stepped out of the bedroom and saw Grandma May continuing to search for her nonexistent reading glasses. Serenity said, \u201cIt\u2019s okay if you can\u2019t find them, Nana. I\u2019ll go with you to get a new pair later.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cAlright, I\u2019ll stop looking then. I\u2019m getting old, and my memory isn\u2019t what it used to be. I remember placing them here, but now they seem to be missing. Maybe the glasses sprouted legs and ran off,\u201d Grandma May replied.<\/div>\n
With a smile, Serenity suggested, \u201cPerhaps they grew wings and flew away like a butterfly.\u201d<\/div>\n
Grandma May lamented, \u201cOh, I wish I could have seen them flying away like a butterfly.\u201d<\/div>\n
Serenity found the old lady\u2019s antics amusing.<\/div>\n
\u201cWhat time did you come home last night, Nana?\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cI was back before you. I went to bed early. I have no idea what time you all came home,\u201d Grandma May answered.<\/div>\n
Though Serenity had her doubts about Grandma May\u2019s response, she decided to drop the subject.<\/div>\n
After the trio shared breakfast, Grandma May mentioned that she would chat with the neighborhood ladies and then left. Zachary drove Serenity to the shop.<\/div>\n
On the way to the shop, Serenity called her sister.<\/div>\n
\u201cHow was business this morning, Liberty?\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cGood. I was overwhelmed with customers. Luckily, Mrs. Lane came to help me right away. If business stays this busy, I might consider hiring someone,\u201d Liberty replied. Since Mrs. Lane worked for her sister, Liberty couldn\u2019t always depend on her for assistance.<\/div>\n
At first, Liberty hesitated to hire anyone, uncertain about how the business would perform.<\/div>\n
\u201cYour business is sure to thrive,\u201d Serenity reassured her, confident that her sister\u2019s breakfast diner would be successful from the moment it opened.<\/div>\n

Sister decided to pursue a career in the food and beverage industry. <\/p>\n

\u201cSeren, I\u2019ll talk to you later this afternoon when I\u2019m free.\u201d <\/p>\n

Liberty was so busy that she had no time for a phone conversation with her sister. <\/p>\n

\u201cI shouldn\u2019t keep you then. Bring Sonny over for lunch later, and I\u2019ll prepare your favorite food.\u201d <\/p>\n

Liberty happily agreed to the lunch date, as she needed to discuss taking their relatives to court. <\/p>\n

Serenity chose not to mention last night\u2019s incident to avoid worrying her sister. <\/p>\n

After ending the call, Liberty returned to her work. <\/p>\n

Mrs. Lane was also swamped with tasks. No one was looking after Sonny, but fortunately, he was well-behaved. He was sitting behind the cash register, playing with his toy bricks. <\/p>\n

Hank entered the diner and surveyed the tables filled with customers. Some patrons were enjoying their breakfast while others were on their phones, waiting. <\/p>\n

It seemed that business was booming. <\/p>\n

He felt both stunned and frustrated. <\/p>\n

Deep down, Hank hoped Liberty would fail in her business, wishing she would lose her source of income just as he had. <\/p>\n

\u201cSonny.\u201d <\/p>\n

Hank was lost in thought but quickly snapped back to reality when he noticed his son sitting alone behind the cash register. He walked over to the boy. <\/p>\n

\u201cDad.\u201d <\/p>\n

Sonny felt bored playing by himself while his mother was busy. She had told him that she needed to earn a lot of money to send him to school, so he had to behave and not bother her over minor issues. <\/p>\n

However, seeing his dad made Sonny incredibly happy. <\/p>\n

He extended his arms for Hank to pick him up. With his eager little eyes fixed on his father, Sonny excitedly asked, \u201cDad, are you taking me to the zoo to see the tigers?\u201d <\/p>\n

His father had mentioned taking him to the zoo to see the tigers the other day.<\/p>\n

Despite the day\u2019s events, Sonny decided to accompany his aunt. However, the little boy did not forget his father\u2019s words. Hank replied with a smile, \u201cI\u2019m busy today, son. Can we plan for another time?\u201d<\/p>\n
