We\u2019re in this together since you\u2019re paying us for the job.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Truthfully, Carrie hadn\u2019t even disclosed her real last name to the thugs.<\/div>\n<div>She planned to dispose of the SIM card after the job was completed and after she was finished communicating with them. The number wasn\u2019t registered in her name, anyway.<\/div>\n<div>Carrie ended the call, laughing at the thought of Serenity getting what was coming to her.<\/div>\n<div>Serenity should have stayed out of things instead of getting involved with Camryn. It was time for her to experience a taste of her own medicine.<\/div>\n<div>Knock, knock.<\/div>\n<div>Pulling herself away from her laughter, Carrie asked, \u201cWho is it?\u201d<\/div>\n<div>\u201cIt\u2019s me, Carrie.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Carrie opened the door to let her mother in.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cI was just heading to my room when I heard you laughing, Carrie. Did something good happen? Share it with me so I can laugh too,\u201d Mrs. Newman said with a smile.<\/div>\n<div>Since returning from the Dowlings\u2019 party, Mrs. Newman had been feeling guilty about what happened to her beloved daughter.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cI did something, Mom.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Carrie first asked, \u201cIs the blind girl back yet?\u201d<\/div>\n<div>\u201cNot yet. What\u2019s going on? Did you think of something new to target her with? Otherwise, I wouldn\u2019t have heard you laughing so loudly through the door.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Knowing that Camryn hadn\u2019t returned yet, Carrie felt no need to worry.<\/div>\n<p>Her mother was the dominant figure in the household, so everyone\u2019s loyalty lay with her. No one would support Camryn. <\/p>\n<p>Carrie recounted the entire incident to her mother, explaining how she had gone to Camryn\u2019s shop looking for trouble and ended up fighting with Serenity. <\/p>\n<p>Upon realizing that her daughter had once again clashed with Serenity, Mrs. Newman\u2019s expression turned cold and fierce. However, she quickly regained her composure and admonished her daughter, saying, \u201cYour father has instructed us to avoid Mr. York for now. He is still focused on that country girl. Do not provoke her. If we offend her again, your father will have to beg for forgiveness.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour father is a proud man who would never bow to anyone, yet he had to apologize because of our actions. While we don\u2019t operate our business in Wiltspoon, we shouldn\u2019t underestimate York Corporation.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Zachary had mentioned that Serenity had taken an interest in Camryn and wanted to befriend her when her husband went to apologize to Zachary.
