I know you love large flowers with intricate petals, so I specifically requested those.”

“That explains why I always thought the flowers you bought were more beautiful than the ones I got. They’re a special variety cultivated by your gardener.”

The flowers here were indeed superior to those found in flower shops.

“Are you upset, sweetheart?”

“What is there to be upset about? The time for that has already passed.”

Zachary stood in front of the gardener, wrapping an arm around Serenity’s shoulders, guiding her out of the greenhouse. He lowered his voice intentionally, likely to keep the gardener from overhearing.

“I was terrified back then; I was so afraid of losing you.”

Serenity pinched his cheek and pulled away.

“The appliances I asked you to buy were probably also sent by Sam, right?”

“Yes, Sam delivered the appliances while you were out.”

Serenity chuckled wryly. “It must have been tough for you to keep that from me.”

“I promise I won’t lie to you again. It was really difficult for me. I had to constantly cover my tracks, and the lies just kept piling up.”

“I thought you…

“lied so often that it became second nature to you.” Zachary let out a low chuckle. In the end, his fabrications truly became instinctual.

Wildridge Manor was vast. Due to time constraints, the eldest missus of the York family was unable to complete her tour of the manor during her first visit.

Liberty’s breakfast diner was set to open tomorrow, so she declined the York family’s invitation for her to stay. Once again, Liberty got into Duncan’s car and left the manor to return to the city.

Serenity and Zachary spent the night at the manor, while Elisa and the others departed after dinner.

Duncan drove Liberty and her son back to the city, taking them directly to her rented apartment. Sonny had spent the afternoon playing at the children’s playground in the manor and was exhausted; he fell asleep in his mother’s arms as soon as they got into the car.

“Would you like me to walk you upstairs?” Duncan asked as he turned to look back. Upon noticing that Sonny was asleep, he quickly exited the car to open Liberty’s door and was just about to take Sonny from her arms.

“No, it’s quite late. You should head back and get some rest, Mr. Lewis,” Liberty replied, refusing to let Duncan carry her son.

She stepped out of the car with Sonny still cradled in her arms and politely declined Duncan’s offer to escort her upstairs.

Duncan didn’t insist and said, “Alright. You should get some rest too.”

After thanking him, Liberty walked into the building with her son and made her way upstairs under Duncan’s watchful gaze.

Duncan lingered for a moment before returning to his car and driving away. He intended to go back to his villa, but halfway there, he received a call from his mother asking him to come home.

“Mom, it would be inconvenient for me to go home if I have to work every day,” he replied.

He knew what his mother was planning.

Chapter 1065 “What’s wrong?” Zachary noticed Serenity gazing at the flower pots and said gently, “If you like them, let’s […]

[20

post-13042","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-married-at-first-sight
["GET
