She was unable to keep anything down and preferred to remain in bed all day, making it difficult for them to leave the house.<\/div>\n<div>The Stones\u2019 second son was rarely home, and Mrs. Stone hadn\u2019t invited him along. It sufficed for her and her husband to attend with Elisa.<\/div>\n<div>Zachary guided everyone to park in the open lot.<\/div>\n<div>Sam, the manor\u2019s head butler, greeted everyone with a warm smile.<\/div>\n<div>As Zachary opened his car door, Sam stepped forward to assist Old Mrs. York. However, she pushed him away, refusing his help, as she believed it would make her appear weak when she was clearly strong.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cOld Mrs. York,\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Sam greeted her respectfully with a smile.<\/div>\n<div>Grandma May waited for Serenity to join her and said, \u201cSeren, this is Sam, the manor\u2019s head butler. He has been with us for over 20 years and has watched Zachary and his brothers grow up.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>As the head butler, Sam managed many other butlers. With the myriad responsibilities at the manor, each task was overseen by a butler. Only when issues arose that could not be resolved did they turn to Sam for assistance.<\/div>\n<div>In many ways, the management of Wildridge Manor mirrored that of York Corporation.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cHello, Uncle Sam.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Having worked at the manor for over 20 years and having seen Zachary and his brothers grow up, Sam was regarded as an elder there. Thus, Serenity greeted him as a junior.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cGood day, missus.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>As Sam smiled, Serenity sensed him evaluating her. She surmised that she must be well-known in the manor.<\/div>\n<div>Duncan approached, carrying Sonny in his arms.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cAunt Ser,\u201d he called out.<\/div>\n<div>Sonny pouted and looked like he was about to cry. Upon seeing Serenity, he reached out his arms, wanting her to hold him instead.<\/div>\n<div>Duncan handed Sonny to Serenity, saying helplessly, \u201cSometimes he wants me to carry him, and other times, when I do, he acts like he\u2019s just been bitten by a tiger.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>\u201cI\u2019ll go help your sister carry some things,\u201d he added.<\/div>\n<div>Duncan only intended to pass Sonny off and returned to assist Liberty with some items.<\/div>\n<div>Along with Liberty, Mrs. Stone had also prepared a plethora of gifts, completely filling the back of their bodyguard\u2019s car.<\/div>\n<div>Liam and Tania stepped out of the house, soon followed by two middle-aged couples\u2014Zachary\u2019s uncles and aunts.<\/div>\n<div>Serenity had previously met the Yorks, but this was her first visit to the manor.<\/div>\n<div>Seeing the large gathering, Duncan sighed internally.<\/div>\n<div>He never imagined that his offhand excuse would lead to a meeting between the Yorks and the Hunts.<\/div>\n<div>Serenity and Zachary greeted the elders together.<\/div>\n<div>After responding with a smile, Tania warmly welcomed Liberty and Mr. and Mrs. Stone before inviting them inside.
