There was an abundance of food available. Despite Duncan’s unexpected arrival, there was more than enough for everyone.

After the meal, Grandma May instructed Duncan, “Duncan, head to Liberty’s place now to pick her and her son up, then bring them to my house.”

Duncan’s eyes widened with curiosity. He immediately questioned, “Grandma May, how many people did you invite to the barbecue?”

“I’m not sure. I just informed everyone in the family group chat. Everyone in Wiltspoon is expected to return to the manor today.”

Duncan was left speechless.

It seemed the Yorks were planning a family meeting.

Duncan had envisioned a casual get-together with just a few friends. He wanted to enjoy a barbecue, sip some wine, and take in the beautiful spring scenery at the manor. How had it turned into a York family gathering?

“Go now. It’s getting late, and the drive will take nearly an hour.”

This was due to the typically heavy traffic in the city, which could be quite time-consuming.

“Seren and I will take Zack’s car. Since Kevin doesn’t know where Liberty’s rental house is, we need you to pick them up, Duncan. Hurry up and stop procrastinating. You were the one who suggested the barbecue gathering,” she urged.

Duncan resigned himself to the situation and grabbed his car keys. As he walked away, he said, “Grandma May, I only proposed a small gathering with a few friends. Now that you’ve spread the word, it’s turned into a gathering of the handsome men of York.”

“You didn’t

“Consider how I would feel; I would feel inferior,” he stated.

Grandma May responded, “If you feel inferior, you should address the scar on your face. Sonny doesn’t let you carry him because of it. But then again, he is quite brave. If he were even a little timid, he might cry, have nightmares, or scream when he sees you.”

Duncan touched the scar on his face and thought, ‘Is it really that frightening? Does Sonny not want me to carry him because of this scar?’

Although Duncan seemed hesitant to pick up Liberty and her son, he actually ran away joyfully once he left Zachary’s house, moving faster than a cheetah.

He reached Liberty’s rented apartment in record time.

Serenity had informed her sister in advance, so Liberty was already waiting downstairs with her son when Duncan arrived. She had also brought a lot of items; it was her first visit to the in-laws, and she wanted to show respect and courtesy.

“Why did you buy so many things?” Duncan asked as he exited his car and approached the mother and son. “The Yorks don’t need anything.”

“It’s my first visit, so I can’t arrive empty-handed,” she replied.

Duncan helped her load the purchased items into the car, filling both the trunk and the interior.

Liberty had truly gone all out for her sister, and Duncan suspected she had tried to buy everything from the mall to make her sister proud.

Still, he appreciated the bond between the Hunt sisters.

“Sonny, come here; I’ll carry you to the car,” he offered.

However, Sonny climbed into the car on his own.

Duncan pulled back his hands and smiled at Liberty, saying, “He’s quite the little one with a temper.”

Since his car wasn’t equipped with a child safety seat, Sonny couldn’t sit alone in the back, so Liberty naturally sat with him.

Duncan got into the car and glanced at the mother and son in the back, considering that he would install a child safety seat in the back seat tomorrow. He seldom had the chance to pick them up, but it was always wise to be prepared.

Chapter 1052 Serenity welcomed Kevin and Duncan with a warm smile, closing the door behind Duncan as he entered the […]

[20

post-13029","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-married-at-first-sight
["GET
