\u201cMr. Lewis is already here. Hurry up, get out of bed and bring him in,\u201d Serenity said as she got up once more.<\/div>\n
Zachary attempted to pull her back onto the bed, but she deftly evaded him.<\/div>\n
As he watched her head to the wardrobe for clothes, he remarked, \u201cIt\u2019s not like I asked him to come over and wait. He wanted to visit, so let him wait. Once Kevin arrives, we can send Jim out to lead them both in, sparing Jim from a second trip.\u201d<\/div>\n
Serenity selected her outfit and also picked out a suit for Zachary.<\/div>\n
\u201cI\u2019m on leave, so I\u2019m not wearing a suit,\u201d he replied.<\/div>\n
Serenity turned around, still holding the suit, and quickly chose another outfit for him.<\/div>\n
After heading into the bathroom to change, Zachary called to her as she left, \u201cHoney, we\u2019re already an old married couple. There\u2019s nothing embarrassing about changing in the same room.\u201d<\/div>\n
Serenity couldn\u2019t be bothered to respond.<\/div>\n
In private, his comments became increasingly suggestive and flirtatious.<\/div>\n
Some things were simply part of a man\u2019s nature and didn\u2019t require teaching to be understood.<\/div>\n
When Serenity emerged from the bathroom, Zachary was still sitting on the bed without a shirt. Upon seeing her, he opened his arms and a smile spread across his handsome face.<\/div>\n

She walked over, snatched the shirt from his hands, and helped him put it on, saying, \u201cIf you catch a cold because you didn\u2019t wear your shirt, I\u2019ll make you get shots every day and suffer through the pain!\u201d<\/div>\n
Zachary\u2019s smile faded as he complained, \u201cHoney, am I not charming at all? You don\u2019t seem moved. Are you not\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you really going to count how many packs I have?\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re already like an old married couple. How could I not know what your body looks like? If you want to show it off, you can wait until summer. What\u2019s the point of flaunting it now? If you catch a cold, you\u2019ll end up regretting it. That\u2019s what happens when you try to look cool without staying warm.\u201d <\/p>\n

After buttoning his shirt, Serenity stood on her tiptoes to whisper something in his ear. No one else heard what she said, but Mr. York smiled broadly and hugged Serenity tightly before returning to his usual serious demeanor. <\/p>\n

\u201cHoney, you\u2019re a rotten egg if you\u2019re lying to me.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cFine, fine, I\u2019ll be the rotten egg if I\u2019m lying to you. But a person doesn\u2019t turn into a rotten egg just because they lied\u2014aren\u2019t you still human after lying to me for months?\u201d <\/p>\n

Zachary fell silent, his guilt overwhelming him. <\/p>\n

After lingering for about another ten minutes, the couple finally emerged from their bedroom. <\/p>\n

Grandma May was already up, practicing yoga on the balcony. <\/p>\n

Zachary was at a loss for words. <\/p>\n

Could he really say that Grandma May was bragging? <\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I praise you, it\u2019s like you\u2019re deaf. But when I say something negative about you, your hearing suddenly sharpens.\u201d<\/p>\n

May paused her yoga flow and said, \u201cThat\u2019s because when you praise me, my hearing isn\u2019t very good, and I can\u2019t hear you clearly. So, I want you to praise me more and louder. But when you scold me, my hearing is excellent, and I catch every word.\u201d <\/p>\n

Zachary pursed his lips. Forget it. He knew he could never win against his Nana. Young people shouldn\u2019t stubbornly argue with their elders; they should show respect for them and care for the young, after all. <\/p>\n

As Grandma May walked in, she asked, \u201cZack, aren\u2019t you making breakfast today? I was hoping to take advantage of Serenity\u2019s privilege and enjoy your cooking again.\u201d<\/p>\n
