This book was\u2026<\/div>\n<div>She opened it to the first page.<\/div>\n<div>Zachary placed her phone on the bedside dresser and turned back to her. He was surprised to see the contents of the book and instinctively snatched it away. A slight blush crept over his handsome face as he stammered, \u201cI-I picked up the wrong one. Just a moment\u2014I\u2019ll get you a magazine,\u201d and he hurried out, still holding the book.<\/div>\n<div>Serenity snapped out of her daze and laughed, \u201cZachary, so this is what you\u2019re really like.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Zachary\u2019s ears turned bright red.<\/div>\n<div>That book had been given to him by Josh many years ago. He had never read it, nor had he thrown it away; it had simply collected dust in his study.<\/div>\n<div>Only after developing feelings for Serenity had he secretly read it.<\/div>\n<div>Of course, he had never dared to let Serenity find out.<\/div>\n<div>A few minutes later, he returned to the bedroom empty-handed.<\/div>\n<div>Serenity playfully asked, \u201cWhere\u2019s that magazine you were going to get for me?\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Zachary simply stared at her with an intense gaze.<\/div>\n<div>Recognizing that predatory look, Serenity stopped smiling and quickly pulled the blanket higher. I want you to rest.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Serenity felt relaxed by his assurance. She turned to face him, and unable to resist his smoldering gaze, she playfully pinched his cheek and remarked, \u201cYou\u2019re hiding something. If you don\u2019t want to share, I won\u2019t push. When you\u2019re ready to tell me, I\u2019ll be all ears.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not,\u201d Zachary firmly denied it. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just want you to sleep early and get some good rest. We\u2019ll be leaving early tomorrow, and it\u2019s quite a distance. After talking for a while, she began to feel sleepy and quickly drifted off into slumber. <\/p>\n<p>Once she was asleep, Zachary carefully got up and quietly slipped away. <\/p>\n<p>Though Serenity was in dreamland, her sleep was restless. She dreamed of a wedding with Zachary, where she wore a beautiful white dress and he donned a sharp black suit. She felt stunning, and he appeared impressively handsome. Guests around them commented on how they made a perfect couple, a match made in heaven. <\/p>\n<p>Just as she felt like the happiest woman alive, her newly discovered cousin, Elisa, appeared.
