Serenity spoke with joy in her eyes, \u201cHang in there, Zachary. You\u2019re thirty years old! How can a grown man be afraid of a shot?\u201d<\/div>\n
It turned out that Zachary had a fear of needles.<\/div>\n
Zachary better hope he doesn\u2019t get sick if he encounters her again; she would make sure the doctor gave him shots for any ailment he had.<\/div>\n

Feeling conflicted, Zachary finally rolled up his sleeve and extended his hand. He closed his eyes and took the shot like a champ.<\/div>\n
As the injection was administered, Zachary repeatedly told himself, \u2018It\u2019s just an ant\u2019s bite. Just an ant\u2019s bite.\u2019<\/div>\n
He knew his wife would reward him handsomely once he recovered from his cold.<\/div>\n
Someone admitted he had been admiring his wife for quite some time.<\/div>\n
It had been especially intense when he helped her get dressed once; he had been troubled by wet dreams at night.<\/div>\n
Serenity was tempted to laugh as Zachary struggled to maintain a blank expression.<\/div>\n
\u201cYou can have the first shot now. The second one can wait,\u201d Serenity suggested.<\/div>\n
However, Zachary told the nurse, \u201cI\u2019d rather take the pain all at once.\u201d<\/div>\n
It was bad enough to endure it once; he might as well tough it out in one go.<\/div>\n

Zachary put on a brave face for the second shot. Serenity was at a loss for words. At least Zachary was getting his daily doses. Serenity observed as the nurse applied pressure to the injection site. He maintained a straight face while staring at Serenity. \u201cThe nurse will put a bandage on your boo-boo,\u201d she reassured him. Plucking some grapes, she popped them into his mouth. \u201cHere, have some grapes to take your mind off the pain.\u201d Serenity then stepped away to use the restroom. <\/p>\n

Once she was gone, Zachary clutched his arm and screamed silently. He worried that if he made a scene, Serenity might request even more injections. Stuffing his mouth with grapes, he concealed his discomfort. He promised himself he would take better care of his health to avoid getting sick again. Zachary would rather endure anything than face another shot. Still, he believed the shot was worth it, especially with the thought that he and Serenity might become a real couple once he recovered from his flu. Shhh\u2026 He knew he couldn\u2019t let anyone hear his thoughts, or he could be punished with more shots.<\/p>\n

Suddenly, his phone rang. He grabbed it and saw it was Nana calling. \u201cNana!\u201d he exclaimed. \u201cI heard you\u2019re in the hospital,\u201d she said. Grandma May added, \u201cI hope you\u2019re okay.\u201d \u201cJust a cold, fever, cough, and sore throat. Nothing serious. I\u2019ll be back to normal in a few days,\u201d he reassured her. With that, Grandma May admonished him, \u201cDon\u2019t overwork yourself. Your body is vulnerable to illness when your immune system is weak. Since Serenity is there, you and your wife can take some time off work to spend together. Ultimately, you two tend to argue easily because your relationship isn\u2019t strong enough.\u201d Their love for one another was not<\/p>\n
