Josh was at a loss for words. He remarked, \u201cWhat\u2019s going on with you two? You were getting along well, giving us a front-row view of your public display of affection, and now you\u2019re fighting again. It\u2019s no wonder Serenity went to a bar; it\u2019s all because of you.\u201d <\/p>\n

Zachary responded, \u201cCheck where they are right now and how long they\u2019ve been there. Are they drunk? Let me know if you hear anything back.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cAlright. I\u2019ll look into it right away,\u201d Josh replied as he quickly ended the call and began investigating the girls\u2019 location.<\/p>\n

While waiting for a response, Zachary reached out to his private plane crew, instructing them, \u201cGet ready to fly back. I want to return to Wiltspoon shortly.\u201d He didn\u2019t want Serenity to drop him off at the airport for his business trip. For one, he needed to get back to the office, and for another, he didn\u2019t have a plane ticket. Zachary had flown abroad on a private plane.<\/p>\n

Following his last-minute notice, the crew began preparing for the flight. <\/p>\n

Once his arrangements were made, Zachary attempted to call Serenity. <\/p>\n

At the bar, Serenity, Jasmine, and her younger brother, Drake, were having a great time. Since Drake couldn\u2019t drink, he sat in a corner, observing the two women as they consumed drink after drink. Serenity, in particular, was downing drinks rapidly.<\/p>\n

He finally spoke up, \u201cSerenity, don\u2019t drink too much. You\u2019re looking quite red in the face. I don\u2019t think you can handle that much liquor; you\u2019re going to get wasted.\u201d<\/p>\n

With a smile, Serenity replied, \u201cAlcohol is the solution to all of life\u2019s problems. I want to get drunk for a change and forget about Zachary!\u201d<\/p>\n

Drake glanced at his sister. <\/p>\n

Jasmine patted her brother on the shoulder and said, \u201cSerenity\u2019s feeling down. I\u2019m here to drink with her tonight. Just watch.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t try to talk her out of it. Let her drink her problems away. Tomorrow, she\u2019ll wake up with a terrible headache, sores, and a deep sense of unease. That\u2019s her consequence for drowning her sorrows.\u201d <\/p>\n

Drake was left speechless. <\/p>\n

Serenity draped her arm over her best friend\u2019s shoulder. \u201cYou know me best, Jas. Today, we drink. We\u2019ll deal with our worries tomorrow.\u201d <\/p>\n

She didn\u2019t want to contemplate the repercussions of getting drunk. <\/p>\n

Serenity was feeling down. <\/p>\n

She managed to keep her emotions in check during the day. <\/p>\n

However, like many others who unleashed their frustrations at the bar, Serenity could no longer contain her bottled-up feelings and let her hair down. <\/p>\n

Suddenly, Serenity\u2019s phone rang. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s my sister,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

Serenity motioned for Jasmine and her brother to quiet down as she pulled out her phone. It was Zachary. Frowning, she handed the phone to Jasmine and hiccupped before asking her best friend, \u201cJas, the petty guy is calling me now.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cHe won\u2019t take my calls or respond to my texts. Should I even answer?\u201d <\/p>\n

Although Jasmine had consumed a few drinks, she remained clear-headed. \u201cYou need to decide whether to take or decline the call. I can\u2019t make that choice for you.\u201d <\/p>\n

If Zachary found out, he would blame her, and Jasmine wouldn\u2019t be able to talk her way out of it. <\/p>\n

\u201cNo. He should experience rejection.\u201d <\/p>\n

Serenity declined Zachary\u2019s call. <\/p>\n

However, he immediately dialed her number again. <\/p>\n

She ended the call once more. <\/p>\n

Zachary called again, and she hung up. <\/p>\n

After several attempts, Zachary appeared increasingly frustrated.<\/p>\n
