Now, Hank found himself in a dilemma, as he needed to support his sister as well.

He had warned them not to interfere with Liberty, but his family ignored his wishes and did so anyway. Hank simply couldn’t catch a break.

At work, Hank was under immense pressure, with his responsibilities weighing heavily on him. His boss was visibly displeased when Hank left his job to come here.

At this rate, he feared his family would cost him the over one million dollars he had given to Liberty in order to keep his position.

Clearly unsettled by the chaos, Sonny clung tightly to his mother’s neck, avoiding eye contact with his grandmother and aunt.

Duncan happened to be in Sonny’s line of sight.

As Duncan stood behind Liberty, Sonny’s gaze met Duncan’s while resting his head on his mother’s shoulder.

Sonny made quite an impression on Duncan. Despite being a rough, burly man, Duncan had a soft spot for children.

The boy was absolutely adorable.

Duncan reached out to gently stroke Sonny’s head, but the boy cried out in fear, “Mommy! Mommy!”

As she calmed her son, Liberty noticed Duncan’s hand awkwardly frozen in midair.

“I–I thought your son was cute, so I wanted to pet him. He seems frightened of me,” Duncan explained, retracting his arm awkwardly.

Liberty reassured her son, saying, “This is Mr. Lewis, Sonny. He’s not a bad man. Don’t be afraid.”

Despite her reassurance, Sonny couldn’t shake his fear. He reached out for Serenity, anxiously calling, “Ant Swer, huggies! Ant Swer, huggies!”

Serenity took him in her arms.

Feeling apologetic, Liberty said to Duncan, “Sonny had a nasty scare earlier, Mr. Lewis. He’s afraid of strangers now.”

Duncan didn’t let it bother him; he understood children could be like that.

“It’s alright. I did scare your son, after all.” The little guy had been frightened by him during their last few encounters as well. Mr. Brown and George arrived at the station, where the Browns expressed numerous apologies and made various promises. They were prepared to cover the damages, hoping that Liberty would drop the issue. With the police mediating to facilitate a resolution, Liberty ultimately agreed to let the matter go. However, she insisted that Mrs. Brown and her daughter put their promise in writing, apologize formally, and pay for Liberty’s medical bills and emotional distress. Liberty specified that the compensation must come directly from the mother and daughter, as Hank was not allowed to pay on their behalf. They needed to experience the consequences of their actions through their own finances. Since Liberty made the decision and the Browns were related to Sonny, the Stones and Serenity chose not to interject. After leaving the station, Liberty said apologetically to Mrs. Stone, “I can’t go to your house looking like this, Aunt Audrey. I’m taking Sonny home.” “Aunt Audrey, I’ll drive my sister home,” Serenity offered. Given everything that happened, Serenity was not in the mood for dinner at the Stones’ place. Mrs. Stone understood. “That’s fine. You should head back. It’s Friday tomorrow, and I’ll pick you up over the weekend. You can stay at my place.” The sisters accepted Mrs. Stone’s invitation. Once the Stones and the Hunt sisters departed, Mrs. Brown came out of the police station with her son’s help. “Mom, Chelsea, stop making things difficult for Liberty. We’re divorced. She and I have nothing to do with each other anymore. While we’re not pleased with her actions, we were in the wrong from the start.” “Can’t you just leave me in peace? I’ve been overwhelmed with…”

“Work is relentless; you won’t even let me catch my breath.” Mrs. Brown held her son’s hands tightly and said urgently, “Hank, you shouldn’t have divorced! You shouldn’t have! Liberty has an aunt whose family business is the Stone Group. Win her back and remarry her!” Hank and Jessica were left speechless.

Chapter 602 Hank had just managed to pull his mother up when his sister once again went weak at the […]

[20

post-12468","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-married-at-first-sight
["GET
