Among everything Zachary had mentioned to Serenity, the aspect that truly captured her attention was money.
His wife believed that he, as the heir of the York family and the head of the multi-billion-dollar York Corporation, was financially insecure\u2026
After releasing her, Zachary stood up and walked away.
Serenity blinked in surprise. Was the petty guy upset again?<\/p>\n

She also got up, but instead of trying to cheer him up, Serenity poured herself a glass of water and took the pills he had bought for her.
He didn\u2019t care about his appearance and wore his dressing gown and loafers to fetch something to alleviate her pain. If Serenity didn\u2019t take the medication, it would make his effort seem wasted and might even intensify his anger.
Zachary soon returned to her side.

\u201cWhat\u2019s wrong?\u201d Serenity asked, lifting her chin as she watched him pull out a red jewelry box. Hesitantly, she inquired, \u201cIs this a ring?\u201d
Zachary opened the jewelry box and took her left hand. He removed the gold ring from the box and placed it on her ring finger.
\u201cThis is the first ring I bought. Later, I thought the Eternal diamond ring was prettier, which is why I gave you that one instead. You can wear this gold ring for now until we go to the shop tomorrow to get the Eternal diamond ring.\u201d
Zachary had purchased a pair of gold rings to give Elisa a reality check, and he had bought an extra one with that in mind.
The rings proved useful now.
After placing the gold ring on Serenity\u2019s finger, Zachary took off the Eternal diamond ring and put on the other gold ring. He was determined to wear a matching pair with Serenity!<\/p>\n

Serenity mentally roasted her man.
After putting on the gold ring, Zachary took Serenity\u2019s hand and intertwined their fingers. He then pulled out his phone with his free hand and snapped a picture of their linked fingers.
Amused, Serenity asked, \u201cAre you posting it on Facebook?\u201d
Zachary remained silent.
When she saw that he had posted the picture, Serenity playfully pinched his cheek.
\u201cYou\u2019re such a tyrant, but I like it. Send me the photo. I want to share it on Facebook to showcase our affection too.\u201d
\u201cAm I going to get criticized for posting all this mushy stuff online at midnight?\u201d
Serenity said as she tapped on her phone.
After she published the photo on Facebook, she set her phone back on the bedside table and pulled Zachary close, landing on the bed together. \u201cDon\u2019t be mad. Let\u2019s get some sleep.\u201d
\u201cSerenity.\u201d
Zachary unleashed his inner tyrant. \u201cYou\u2019re mine.\u201d
\u201cI\u2019m not yours. I\u2019m my own person. I don\u2019t belong to anyone.\u201d
Zachary\u2019s dark eyes were locked onto hers.<\/p>\n

Letting out a yawn, she snuggled into his warm embrace and drifted into dreamland, not willing to discuss the matter further.
It took a while for Zachary to lean in and whisper in her ear, \u201cSerenity, I feel vulnerable. You\u2019re too composed. I\u2019m afraid of losing you.\u201d
\u201cWhat should I do with you?\u201d
Serenity was deep in slumber, oblivious to his murmurs, unaware that behind his domineering exterior lay his vulnerability and fear.
Of course, Zachary had it coming.
