Why are you still returning here?\u201d<\/div>\n<div>\u201cShe was moving her things out.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>The neighbor glanced at Jessica, seeming to understand the situation.<\/div>\n<div>He smiled at Hank and walked away.<\/div>\n<div>It was no surprise that Hank had been chased by Liberty with a kitchen knife for five blocks; it turned out he was cheating on his wife.<\/div>\n<div>They should be divorced, right?<\/div>\n<div>Liberty had just moved out that afternoon, and Hank had come home with a beautiful woman the very same night. He wouldn\u2019t be so brazen unless he was already divorced.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cDoes he suspect anything?\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Jessica felt uneasy, knowing she was the homewrecker in this situation.<\/div>\n<div>Hank pulled her suitcase with one arm while wrapping the other around her shoulders. With a smile, he ushered her into the elevator. \u201cHave you forgotten what I did this afternoon? I divorced Liberty, so I\u2019m single now. You\u2019re my girlfriend, so what if they know?\u201d<\/div>\n<div>\u201cJessica, we can be together openly and honestly now. There\u2019s no need to worry about what others think.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Jessica paused before responding, \u201cThat\u2019s true, you\u2019re divorced.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>She realized she no longer had to hide.<\/div>\n<div>The elevator carried them to the sixteenth floor.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cWe\u2019re here,\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Hank said, pointing to the door of his apartment. \u201cThat\u2019s the one.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Jessica followed him inside.<\/div>\n<div>He took out his keys and opened the door, revealing a dark interior that briefly confused him.<\/div>\n<div>In the past, no matter how late he\u2026<\/p>\n<p>When he returned home, he expected the light to be on, waiting for him. Other homes in the neighborhood were lit, so there was no way a power outage could be the reason for his unit being dark. <\/p>\n<p>He pulled out his cell phone, turned on the flashlight, and directed it toward the light switch. It looked perfectly fine, and he was certain he had pressed the right button. So why weren\u2019t the lights working? <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHank!\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Jessica suddenly yanked on his shirt and shouted in alarm, \u201cAre we in the wrong house?\u201d <\/p>\n<p>This was Hank\u2019s house? <\/p>\n<p>There were no luxurious renovations, the walls weren\u2019t even plastered, and garbage was strewn everywhere. <\/p>\n<p>This was definitely not Hank\u2019s home! <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2014\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Hank swung his phone in an arc.
