He asked, “When did we sign an agreement?”

Serenity was left speechless.

She stared at him in disbelief, unable to fathom that Zachary would say something like that.

“When we obtained our marriage license, you drafted the agreement and asked me to sign it. The contract was for six months,” she replied.

Zachary remained calm, his expression blank as he said, “Why don’t you recite the contents of the agreement for me?”

Serenity opened her mouth but found herself at a loss for words.

After all this time, she struggled to recall much of the agreement’s specifics. All she remembered was that the contract lasted six months and that they were not to interfere in each other’s private lives.

“Serenity, you might have been so involved in your sister’s issues lately that you’re imagining things. We never actually signed an agreement. If you truly believe we did, I’m willing to let you search my room when you’re home. If you can find the so-called agreement you mentioned, I’ll believe you.”

Serenity stood there, stunned and frozen.

They had clearly signed an agreement.

Was he really in denial?

Zachary then leaned down, kissed her lips, and said earnestly, “Don’t overthink it. I’ll take my brothers out for dinner. Mrs. Lane can stay and assist you girls.”

Serenity remained in a daze, still unable to process everything.

Zachary, who had always been arrogant and aloof, shockingly denied having signed an agreement, which left Serenity stunned. After processing his words, she could only nod in disbelief. Observing her astonished expression, Zachary smiled and released her hand. “I’ll be on my way then.”

“Oh, okay. Treat your brothers to a nice dinner, and I’ll transfer the money to you,” she suggested.

“There’s no need for that. I have enough money. We don’t need to be so meticulous about splitting everything,” he replied.

Serenity took out her phone to transfer the money, but Zachary had already returned to the living room. She stopped looking at her phone and watched as he guided his brothers out for dinner. Zachary also made sure to instruct Mrs. Lane to prepare a meal for the Hunt sisters.

He understood that, at that moment, the Hunt sisters were likely not in the mood to dine out with them. However, he was concerned that they might be too upset to eat, so he left Mrs. Lane to ensure they had something to eat.

“I’m exhausted from spending the day with you all. Zack, I’m going to join you boys for dinner before heading home,” Grandma May announced, deciding to leave with her grandchildren.

She turned to her granddaughter-in-law, who had just entered from the balcony, saying, “Seren, call us if you need anything. Don’t worry. Even if the sky were to fall, these boys are tall enough to hold it up for you girls.”

Grandma May’s words warmed the hearts of the Hunt sisters.

“I will, Nana,” Serenity replied as she walked Grandma May out. “Zachary, take good care of Nana.”

Grandma May smiled. “I don’t expect him to look after me. It’s already a great blessing if he doesn’t make me angry.”

Zachary responded, “Nana, how could you speak poorly of me in front of my wife?”

Yet, Grandma May continued to criticize him. Was he really not good enough?

To repay a favor, Zachary married his grandmother’s savior before he fell in love with her.

Was that not sufficient?

His grandmother continued to speak ill of him in front of Serenity. Did she not desire a great-granddaughter soon?

Since Zachary still needed to hug a pillow at night, his grandmother could embrace a small pillow as her great-granddaughter.

Chapter 462 Zachary gently released Serenity, bowed his head, and gazed at her.
