He then spoke into the phone, addressing his daughter, “How dare you demand compensation from Serenity?!”

Chelsea, hearing her father’s voice, exclaimed in frustration, “Dad, George was forced to beat up Matthew!”

“Your son made a mistake. So what if his father punished him? I disciplined you too when you were young and disobedient,” he replied.

Chelsea retorted, “Dad, are you serious? Why does it sound like you’re siding with Liberty and her sister? I’m your daughter!”

“Even if Matthew made a mistake, he’s still a child. What kind of mistake could be so serious? He didn’t kill or rob anyone. He just hit Sonny a few times. Matthew claimed Lucas was crying because Sonny hit him first. He was just defending his younger brother and kicked Sonny a few times. How could Sonny end up in the hospital? I think they’re overreacting.”

Chelsea would never confess to the police that she had seen the footage from her living room. The surveillance video clearly showed her eldest son repeatedly beating Sonny. If she counted the times Sonny was struck on both sides of his face, it certainly exceeded ten, which was excessive.

The police officers observed Matthew’s red and swollen face, along with the belt marks on his body.

However, they chose to ignore these signs and said nothing about them.

Instead, they insisted that her son was ruthless and capable of such cruelty towards a two-year-old child. They warned that if Serenity hadn’t intervened in time, Sonny could have been beaten to death by her son.

Chelsea thought to herself, ‘Matthew is just a child and doesn’t understand that he can…’

He didn’t control his strength, which could have resulted in someone being killed by beating them. Isn’t that typical behavior for a kid? Chelsea believed that as long as Sonny was still alive, her son did nothing wrong, even if the footage showed that Lucas was the one who struck Sonny first. Lucas cried, insisting that Sonny only hit him in self-defense.

Chelsea, like any protective parent, twisted the facts to portray her children as innocent. She felt indifferent about the fate of another child; whether they lived or died didn’t concern her. This was Chelsea’s mindset.

The police reprimanded Matthew and instructed Chelsea and George to take him to apologize. If Liberty requested compensation, they would be obligated to provide it as well. While at the police station, Chelsea was left speechless but still felt a sense of injustice.

After leaving, she berated her husband for his incompetence, arguing that he should have deleted the surveillance footage to eliminate any evidence. When the police reviewed the footage, it seemed they were at fault, even though they had suffered significant losses. Their home was in disarray, but the officers showed little concern.

“Sonny never started anything with Lucas. It was Lucas who always provoked Sonny. Whenever Lucas visited your brother’s house, he would steal Sonny’s toys and food,” Chelsea asserted.

Pouting, she added, “Lucas is the youngest in my family, so it’s understandable that he’s a bit spoiled and domineering.”

“Dad, how does this relate to my request for Serenity to compensate me? Her in-laws caused extensive damage to my house. I estimate the costs to be in the tens of thousands of dollars,” she continued.

Mr. Brown replied coldly, “They did a great job! If I had been there, I wouldn’t just have damaged your house; I would have also taken care of Matthew! Your mother and I have cared for him well since he…

“I was born, yet he wanted to kill my grandson!”

Chapter 459 Hank said, “Chelsea, you’re…” Before Hank could finish his thought, his father, who was seated in the passenger […]

[20

post-12260","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-married-at-first-sight
["GET
