After all, she wasn’t his wife yet and didn’t want to say too much for fear of making Hank resent her. His family might also have issues with her.

Sonny was just over two years old. He was still too young to understand and unable to take care of himself. If he lived with her, she would have plenty of chances to manage him, so there was no need to rush.

“No problem.”

Jessica returned the divorce agreement to Hank. “I’ll print two copies for you. Please take them to Liberty tomorrow for her to sign, one for each of you. Then, on Monday, make sure to go to City Hall to file for divorce.”

Hank chuckled. “I’m more eager than you are.”

“I’m not eager.”

Jessica laughed as she assisted Hank in printing the divorce papers.

That night, both of them had pleasant dreams about their future life together after marriage.

The night passed quietly.

The next morning, Serenity woke up and noticed the note Zachary had left on the dresser. She quickly grabbed her phone and called Jasmine.

“Seren, I’m still asleep.”

Jasmine hadn’t even opened her eyes yet. She yawned as she said, “I went to bed late last night.”

Serenity laughed. “I guessed you weren’t awake yet. You wouldn’t be able to read if I texted you, so I called instead. Zachary left me a note saying his colleague will be waiting for you at Beans and Cream at 10 this morning, holding a red rose.”

“I would’ve forgotten about the blind date if you hadn’t reminded me.”

Jasmine opened her eyes and sat up. “Beans and Cream again? Alright, I got it. I won’t be late.”

At the very least, she would leave early.

“Set your alarm and go back to sleep for a little while longer. I won’t disturb you.”

“You’re not

“Are you coming with me?” Jasmine asked. Serenity always accompanied her on blind dates. However, Serenity’s relaxed tone shifted as she replied, “I can’t. My sister is meeting with Hank today to discuss the divorce, and as her only family, I need to be there.”

“You’re right. You should support Liberty and ensure she isn’t bullied by the Browns. Just last night, your scumbag brother-in-law came to our shop, trying to take Sonny, claiming that his grandparents missed him.”

“I ignored him completely. When he didn’t find Sonny at the shop and I kept avoiding him, he left in a huff. Since you were on a trip, I only mentioned it to Liberty.”

Serenity scoffed. “They miss Sonny? If that were the case, they wouldn’t have tried to make him sick. I suspect he just wants to take Sonny to blackmail my sister into making concessions or leaving empty-handed.”

Hank had an affair and was caught by Liberty; he was clearly at fault. When the divorce lawsuit was filed and assets divided, he should have given her more support. Yet, how could the Browns, who were such jerks, be willing to give Liberty anything? They merely aimed to use Sonny as leverage against her.

Serenity despised people like Hank. He neglected his child yet fought for custody during the divorce, acting as if he would perish if he lost his son. In reality, he was merely using the child as a pawn. If he were to gain custody, he would likely turn around and abandon the child once more.

“Seren, could Sonny be in danger? Why not discuss this with your sister and send Sonny to a safe place for a few days? Find somewhere the Brown family can’t locate or wouldn’t dare go, so they can’t threaten your sister with him.”

Chapter 440 Jessica felt upset but chose not to reveal it.
