Serenity returned to her room and closed the door behind her, leaning against it as she touched her flushed cheeks.<\/div>\n
She had no idea why she was blushing.<\/div>\n
Perhaps it was due to something she witnessed while accompanying Liberty to catch Hank and Jessica in the act last night.<\/div>\n
After standing there for a moment, Serenity quickly headed for the shower, knowing she needed to prepare breakfast for Zachary later.<\/div>\n
Before doing so, she suddenly thought of Mrs. Lane and decided to call her. When Mrs. Lane answered, Serenity said, \u201cMrs. Lane, you can take Sonny to my store later; there\u2019s no need to rush back.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cOkay.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cHow is my sister?\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cShe\u2019s pretending to be fine and says she\u2019s going to work after breakfast. I\u2019m making her a cup of coffee to help boost her energy since she didn\u2019t sleep well last night.\u201d<\/div>\n
Serenity felt a pang of sympathy for her sister but understood that taking a day off was not an option for Liberty, especially since she had only recently started her job.<\/div>\n
\u201cPlease remind my sister to be careful while riding her bike to work.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cI will.\u201d<\/div>\n
Serenity hung up before heading into the shower.<\/div>\n
Once finished, she instinctively walked to the dresser and sat down, intending to brush her hair.<\/div>\n
However, something was missing from the dresser.<\/div>\n
Where was the golden hairpin she had sketched?<\/div>\n
It was the design she created for hair accessories she planned to sell online.<\/div>\n
She had dedicated two nights to drawing it.<\/div>\n
As she combed her hair, Serenity searched for her drawing.<\/div>\n
After searching for a while, she still couldn\u2019t find it.<\/div>\n
\u201cHow could it have vanished? I left it on the dresser, and no one has been in my room\u2026\u201d<\/div>\n
Serenity recalled Zachary mentioning how soundly she slept last night, allowing him to carry her.<\/p>\n

Zachary was in her room upstairs. However, all he found was a drawing of a golden hairpin. Why would a large man like Zachary take her drawing of a hairpin, especially when it wasn\u2019t even the actual item? He had no reason to take something that was merely a sketch.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Lane had been accompanying Serenity to the store since she began her job. Even if Mrs. Lane returned home before Serenity last night, she likely wouldn\u2019t have discarded the drawing as scrap paper, right? <\/p>\n

After contemplating for a while, Serenity decided against asking Mrs. Lane about it. Since it was just a drawing, she felt it unnecessary to question her on only her second day of work, as it could easily lead to misunderstandings.<\/p>\n

If worse came to worst, she could always spend another couple of nights redrawing it.<\/p>\n

With that thought in mind, Serenity went to prepare breakfast. Zachary hadn\u2019t slept the night before but still had to go to work later, so Serenity made him a cup of coffee.<\/p>\n

While they had breakfast together, Serenity asked, \u201cMr. York, did you notice the drawing on my dresser when you brought me back to my room last night?\u201d<\/p>\n

Zachary looked up at her, pausing before he responded, as if waiting for her to elaborate. \u201cI think my crafts are a bit dull, so I wanted to add some new designs to my online store for vintage hair accessories. I rarely create these, so I drew a sample to begin with. That drawing is a sample of a golden hairpin.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zachary thought to himself, \u2018I understand now\u2026\u2019<\/p>\n

He replied honestly, \u201cI saw that drawing. You did an excellent job; it looked like a photograph.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhere is that drawing? I just noticed it\u2019s missing,\u201d Serenity asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cI flushed it down the toilet,\u201d he replied matter-of-factly.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat?!\u201d Serenity exclaimed, shocked. \u201cHow could you\u2026?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was taking you back to your room last night, you suddenly sat up and threw up on my hand.\u201d<\/p>\n

As I set you down, I picked up a piece of paper to wipe my hands, only to realize later that it was a drawing. However, since it was already dirty, I flushed it down the toilet along with some tissues. Serenity was left speechless and wondered, \u2018Did I throw up last night?\u2019<\/p>\n
