Is he not finished changing?’

‘He’s usually quick and decisive, never one to dawdle.’

‘Well, except when it comes to sending flowers. He’s definitely not quick and decisive in that regard.’

Finally, Zachary opened the door.

His shirt was on but still unbuttoned. As he opened the door, Serenity caught a glimpse of his slightly exposed chest.

She was taken aback but managed to say, “It’s time for breakfast, Mr. York.”

Zachary observed Serenity’s reaction. Noticing she only froze for a moment, he turned away as she finished speaking.

He shut the door again and glanced down at his unbuttoned shirt. Had he not exposed enough skin?

His wife certainly wasn’t drooling yet.

Wait.

It seemed he was trying to play tricks and seduce his wife.

More importantly, he hadn’t succeeded.

Zachary felt as though he had been possessed over the past two days to act in this manner. He resolved to ask Josh later at the office if he could recommend any powerful mediums to help rid him of this spirit.

Mr. York, who had been dawdling while waiting for his wife to knock, moved much more quickly once she did. Within two minutes, he emerged from his room.

Serenity noticed he was only wearing a shirt and suit pants, without his suit jacket or tie.

She sighed internally. ‘What’s up with Mr. York? It took him so long to change, and he didn’t even put on his tie.’

“Mr. York and Ms. Hunt, please try my cooking.”

Mrs. Lane brought out the breakfast she had prepared and set it on the dining table before calling for the young couple.

With only two residents in the small home, the house was neat and tidy, requiring minimal chores. With Mrs. Lane present, Serenity had little to do, so she walked over when called. “Only two portions? Where’s yours, Mrs. Lane?”

“I’ll eat in the kitchen later.”

Typically, Mrs. Lane and her colleagues set up a separate table for themselves to dine together.

Zachary maintained a stoic demeanor that often intimidated others. Whether in his private villa or the old residence with the nannies and helpers, no one dared to eat at the same table as him.

“Come and eat with us, Mrs. Lane.”

Serenity didn’t concern herself with social class distinctions. To her, everyone worked for a living, so she felt no sense of hierarchy.

In the eyes of the York family, Serenity was regarded as the lady of the house, a title honored above all in Wiltspoon.

Unfortunately, Serenity was unaware of her esteemed status.

She even went into the kitchen to help Mrs. Lane bring her breakfast out.

Mrs. Lane glanced at Zachary, who gently said, “Mrs. Lane, if Ms. Hunt wants us to eat together, then let’s do so. We’re easy to get along with. Just treat this place like your own home.” Mrs. Lane was taken aback; she hadn’t realized Mr. Zachary could be so gentle and amiable. “All right.”

After being momentarily startled by Zachary’s gaze, Mrs. Lane quickly regained her composure and hurried into the kitchen. She took her breakfast from Serenity and smiled, saying, “I’ll handle it, Ms. Hunt.”

An extra person joined the table. Serenity ate with her usual enthusiasm, praising the meal.

Mrs. Lane’s cooking skills were evident as she ate. Zachary, as always, exuded elegance. In contrast, Mrs. Lane felt quite uncomfortable and occasionally glanced at Zachary. Fortunately, Serenity was so engrossed in her meal that she didn’t notice Mrs. Lane’s unusual behavior.

Chapter 363 Zachary remained in his room for some time until Serenity knocked on his door. “Mr. York, Mrs. Lane […]

[20

post-12115","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-married-at-first-sight
["GET
