Seeing her brother-in-law, Liberty smiled and lifted her son. She showered her son with kisses on his cheeks until he was giggling with delight.<\/div>\n

The only one she recognized was York Corporation, the most prominent company in the city, mainly because her best friend constantly talked about the heir. After marrying Zachary, who worked at York Corporation, she became more familiar with it.<\/div>\n
She remembered Stone Group because of Elisa, but she didn\u2019t track the names of other major corporations.<\/div>\n
Serenity preferred to focus on things that directly affected her, like selling her crafts online, rather than on unrelated matters.<\/div>\n
Upon hearing that Liberty would be working at Lewis & Co., she smiled and asked, \u201cIs Lewis & Co. a big deal, Liberty? Did you reconnect with an old colleague who switched jobs to work there?\u201d<\/div>\n
Liberty was over the moon about landing a job. Since there was no need to hide the truth from her sister, she explained what had happened.<\/div>\n

Liberty felt burdened, but the Chaplin lady lacked the class to avoid fat-shaming her sister. If it weren\u2019t for Mr. Lewis, her sister would have been thrown out of the building. <\/p>\n

Liberty picked up on the hint.<\/p>\n

Although she had met Duncan twice, it was never under pleasant circumstances. His luxury sedans always seemed to end up at the repair shop whenever they crossed paths. Duncan would likely have kicked her out if not for Zachary.<\/p>\n

Zachary replied quietly, \u201cI didn\u2019t do anything, Liberty. You earned your place in the company. Mr. Lewis may be a client of mine, but he\u2019s a man of principles. He wouldn\u2019t have hired you if you weren\u2019t capable.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Zachary noticed her gaze and their eyes met, there seemed to be something unspoken in his expression.<\/p>\n

Unlike her sister, Serenity didn\u2019t repeatedly thank Zachary, even though she knew her sister likely got the job due to him. She planned to wait until they were home alone at night to show her appreciation.<\/p>\n

She needed to think of a way to repay him for facilitating her sister\u2019s job opportunity.<\/p>\n

\u201cLiberty, Zachary, come have lunch. You need to get back to work later, Zachary.\u201d <\/p>\n

Serenity urged everyone to start lunch while she entered the room.<\/p>\n

In the kitchen, Zachary quietly followed behind her. While she addressed him by his name when her sister was present, Serenity reverted to a more formal tone in his absence. <\/p>\n

\u201cMr. York, I don\u2019t need your help here,\u201d she said, glancing back to see her husband trailing behind. <\/p>\n

Tension marked his facial features. Just as he mentally complained about her formal address, she confirmed his grievance. <\/p>\n

\u201cI came to wash my hands,\u201d Zachary replied, his voice gruff with a hint of frustration. However, Serenity was accustomed to his tone and failed to notice any displeasure. He quickly made his way to the sink and turned on the tap to wash his hands.<\/p>\n
