I have an impressive background, having worked as a finance director previously.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Duncan took her resume and replied, \u201cGive me a moment. Would you mind waiting for me at my VIP reception?\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Duncan signaled to the secretary to escort Mr. Daniels upstairs.<\/div>\n<div>He exited the office building and pulled out his phone to call his best friend. I hire based on talent, not connections. I just wanted to keep you in the loop. By the way, why do I keep running into your sister-in-law? I still haven\u2019t gotten a new car. I should visit the dealership this afternoon and opt for something more affordable,\u201d Duncan added. <\/p>\n<p>Duncan was clearly rattled by Liberty, and to Zachary, it felt as though fate was conspiring to keep them together. <\/p>\n<p>Listening to Duncan\u2019s dramatic recounting, Zachary smiled and said, \u201cDon\u2019t be so dramatic. Even if she joins your company, she\u2019ll just be a clerk. You\u2019re the CEO; it\u2019s not like you\u2019ll see each other all the time.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI doubt that. I have a feeling the exact opposite will happen. Life has a funny way of working out,\u201d Duncan replied. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cTry to make sense of the argument. If it\u2019s not her fault, get your interviewer to apologize,\u201d Zachary suggested, demonstrating his protective nature. <\/p>\n<p>Duncan grinned, \u201cWith a brother-in-law like you, I wouldn\u2019t let your sister-in-law feel wronged. Alright, I know how to handle this. Want to grab lunch together?\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have a wife. I\u2019m going home to have lunch with her,\u201d Zachary responded. <\/p>\n<p>Duncan retorted, \u201cSo what if you have a wife? I challenge you to bring her to every social event!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>events.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Zachary responded by hanging up on him.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cThat man and his ego. All he does is flaunt his marriage in front of us single guys. He even kept his marriage a secret. I can only consider him a real man when he makes his marriage public.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>With his best friend hanging up on him, Duncan vented his frustrations.<\/div>\n<div>A little while later, Duncan returned to the office building and confronted Ms. Chaplin with a serious expression, saying, \u201cThere\u2019s no need to interview anyone else. We\u2019ll hire her. She has the experience. And please<\/div>\n<div>apologize to Ms. Hunt! Since this is your first offense, I\u2019ll<\/div>\n<div>deduct a month\u2019s bonus.
