Even recently, when he shouted at her, she only argued back on occasions when he crossed the line.

This time, however, after he struck her, Liberty behaved like a madwoman.

Not only did she retaliate, but she also grabbed a kitchen knife.

111

Hank fled the room and exited the apartment.

Liberty didn’t relent, chasing after him with the knife in hand.

She pursued Hank down the stairs.

This scene astonished the entire neighborhood.

Liberty chased Hank with the knife for five blocks. When she finally became exhausted, she sat down by the roadside to catch her breath.

Hank, also fatigued, sat at a distance from her.

When Hank’s parents and sister arrived and saw them, Hank felt wronged.

His parents were furious upon seeing their beloved son in such a pitiful state, with both sides of his face swollen. Chelsea rolled up her sleeves, fuming, “That b*tch actually dared to hit my brother! I’ll kill her!”

Mrs. Brown was so distressed that she burst into tears while scolding him. “Are you two enemies? How dare she hurt my son?! I always knew she was unstable because she grew up undisciplined, without parents, and I told you not to marry her! But you insisted!”

“You’re a grown man, yet you can’t even stand up to a woman. You keep telling us you’ll teach her a lesson, but look at you now!”

Mrs. Brown conveniently forgot that their family had encouraged Liberty to marry Hank due to her high income at the time.

Now, they looked down on Liberty. Mr. Brown also condemned her, saying, “I couldn’t even bear to hit my son all this time. Liberty—”

“You’ve really gone overboard this time! Where is she? I’ll stand up for you and vow to retaliate. She lives in your house and spends your money, yet she dares to fight back when you try to teach her a lesson. Does she have a death wish?”

Mr. Brown noticed his daughter was already running toward Liberty and quickly followed her.

“Dad! Chelsea! She has a knife!” Hank shouted, jumping up to chase after them with his mother.

Liberty paused briefly and saw her in-laws charging toward her. She stood up, gripped the kitchen knife tightly, and glared at them with menacing intent.

The Browns halted in their tracks as they caught sight of Liberty’s fierce expression and the glint of the knife reflecting in the sunlight.

They also realized that Liberty’s condition was just as bad as Hank’s. Her face was bruised and swollen, with blood on her nose and the corners of her mouth. Her hair was a mess, and her arms bore numerous bruises and shoe prints.

It was clear to them that Hank was responsible for her injuries.

“Liberty, how dare you fight with Hank?”

Chelsea, too intimidated to approach, shouted at Liberty, “Hank told us there was no food on the table when he returned from work. Is that how a wife should behave? You don’t do anything at home and expect Hank to cook for himself. When has Hank ever cooked in his life?”

“He only hit you a little because he was angry. You should just accept it. How dare you fight back?”

“Exactly! Look at how badly you’ve beaten my son!”

“You’re a shrew! I’ll make sure Hank divorces you! Just look at you now. How will you survive without him?”

“You use Hank’s money and live in his house, yet you still have the audacity to fight him. No woman should ever beat her husband like this!”

Chapter 121 Liberty pursued Hank with a kitchen knife.
