His job can be quite demanding and exhausting.”

“As his wife, it’s important for you to support him.”

“How can you expect him to handle the household chores too? Hank only suggested splitting expenses to help you avoid overspending.”

“Why fuss over every little thing with your husband? Please, clear the table quickly.”

“We don’t want to upset Hank.”

“It’s tough enough for him to work hard all day, so please try to be understanding.” Chelsea chimed in, echoing her mother’s sentiments.

“Yeah, as if you know what that feels like.”

“All you do is stay home with Sonny while spending Hank’s money. How can you boss him around?” Liberty turned away from the kitchen, heading toward the children’s toy motorbike to pick up Sonny.

With a neutral expression, she replied, “I don’t have a job or any source of income. I rely solely on Hank since I’m a full-time mom. Yet, he expects me to contribute financially? What’s going on here?”

“Fine. I’ll pay my share, but he needs to pull his weight with the house chores as well.”

“We’ll split everything down the middle. Didn’t you say I have it easy at home and do nothing? Well, enjoy your wish.”

“I won’t lift a finger so that Hank realizes the house doesn’t clean itself. His dirty clothes and socks won’t wash and fold themselves either.”

Liberty picked up her son and grabbed her brother-in-law’s gifts before making a swift exit to the bedroom, slamming the door behind her.

“She’s lost it!” Hank, furious, slammed the fruit knife onto the coffee table and rolled up his sleeves, ready to confront Liberty and show her who was in charge.

“Hank.”

Mrs. Brown intervened, pulling her son back. “What are you trying to do?”

Sonny is inside.

Please, don’t frighten Sonny.

You should wait until Sonny is asleep before teaching her a lesson.

Also, remember not to leave any marks that are visible.

Serenity will come after you if she notices any bruises.

We need to be careful around her husband.” Hank knew that Zachary worked for a prominent corporation, but the sisters never revealed the name of the company.

Even though Hank tried to befriend Zachary, the latter always kept his distance.

Hank was also a manager at his own company, so Zachary’s behavior discouraged him from being friendly.

Following his mother’s advice, Hank began to feel that Zachary looked down on him.

Frustrated, he exclaimed, “Whatever goes on between me and my wife is none of their business! What, is Serenity going to come after me? They should be the ones watching their backs!” Chelsea only added to his anger.

“Hank, Mom is right.

Don’t scare Sonny if you plan on teaching Liberty a lesson.

You’ve been nothing but kind to Liberty, but apparently, that’s not enough for her.

I can’t believe she expects you to handle the household chores.

I always give my husband a nice foot rub when he comes home from work.

While men work hard for their careers and bring home the bacon, women should ensure the household runs smoothly.

Liberty isn’t being a good wife if she makes her husband do her work.”

At first glance, it seemed like Chelsea was trying to calm her brother down, but she was only making things worse.

Deep down, Chelsea hoped Hank would take action against Liberty immediately.

Since his son was still young and his mother wouldn’t allow him to go, Hank had to set aside his desire to assert his authority over his wife for the time being.

“She’ll get what’s coming to her when Sonny goes to bed.

All she does is eat and sleep all day.

What a pig.”

“Can you believe she had the audacity to give me attitude? She thinks I’m going to wash the dishes? Ha!” Hank exclaimed as he picked up a fruit knife and began slicing into the watermelon.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Brown called for her daughter to help tidy up the mess left from dinner. After some time, both mother and daughter returned to the sofa and settled in.

Chelsea grabbed a slice of watermelon and turned to her brother, saying, “Hank, your niece and nephew are about to start junior high. I was thinking about enrolling them in one of the local schools. Would it be possible for them to stay with you if I transfer them to an elementary school here for a year or two? That way, it would be much easier for them to transition into junior high afterwards.”

Chapter 78 “Liberty, remember that Hank goes to work each day to provide for you and Sonny.
