Chelsea\u2019s youngest son was trailing closely behind Sonny, crying out, \u201cI want the plane Sonny got!\u201d<\/div>\n
Sonny, clutching the toy plane tightly against his chest, glanced back at his cousin and softly said, \u201cHuggies, Mama. Huggies, Mama.\u201d<\/div>\n
Liberty quickly scooped up her son.<\/div>\n
Chelsea insisted, \u201cLiberty, tell Sonny to give the plane to my son. We\u2019re your guests, and Sonny should be nice to him.\u201d<\/div>\n
As Chelsea approached, she wiped her son\u2019s tears away before reaching for the toy plane in Sonny\u2019s grasp. However, when she noticed Serenity and her husband nearby, she hesitated.<\/div>\n
Zachary was struggling with several bags in his arms.<\/div>\n
With a smile, Chelsea greeted Serenity, \u201cLong time no see, Serenity! Is this your husband? He\u2019s quite the handsome man, isn\u2019t he?\u201d<\/div>\n
Not only was Serenity\u2019s husband attractive, but he also exuded a presence and grace that even made Hank, who was in a managerial role, seem less impressive. Chelsea felt a twinge of envy towards Serenity.<\/div>\n
\u201cLong time no see, Chelsea. This is my husband, Zachary,\u201d Serenity replied.<\/div>\n
In his typical aloof manner, Zachary simply nodded without saying a word.<\/div>\n
Zachary immediately took a disliking to Chelsea, especially after witnessing her attempt to take Sonny\u2019s toy for her son. Sonny, being younger than his cousin, certainly shouldn\u2019t have to give up his toy. Zachary, always looking out for those he cared about, refused to let Sonny be at a disadvantage.<\/div>\n
He cherished the little boy and couldn\u2019t bear to see him in such a situation.<\/div>\n
As Chelsea continued to press the issue, Liberty invited Serenity and Zachary inside while Chelsea picked up her son.<\/div>\n

Her son seemed to be quite spoiled, still fussing over Sonny\u2019s toy. Hank\u2019s parents were all smiles as they observed Serenity and her husband arrive with gifts in hand. Initially, they weren\u2019t fond of Serenity, but their feelings shifted now that she was married and had moved out. <\/p>\n

Mr. and Mrs. Brown had heard that Serenity\u2019s husband owned a home in Brynfield, completely debt-free, and held a senior position at a major company. These were compelling reasons for them to try to get on Serenity\u2019s good side.<\/p>\n

Everyone took their seats, and Zachary set the shopping bags down on the coffee table. Chelsea quickly noticed a new toy among the items and eagerly pulled it out to show her son. \u201cDon\u2019t cry, bubs. Let\u2019s play with this new toy. We don\u2019t like Sonny\u2019s old toy, do we?\u201d <\/p>\n

Zachary\u2019s jaw clenched as he shot Chelsea a grimacing look, feeling the tension rise in the room. Mr. Brown nudged his wife, subtly suggesting that she rein in their daughter before things escalated further. After all, the new toys had been brought for Sonny by Serenity\u2019s husband, and Chelsea was only making a scene by claiming them without permission.<\/p>\n

Feeling the awkwardness, Chelsea\u2019s husband, George Repton, quickly stood up to retrieve the new toy set from his son and placed it back on the coffee table. He then picked up his son and settled him down, saying, \u201cBe a good boy now, bubs. I\u2019ll get you a new toy later.\u201d <\/p>\n

Chelsea seemed oblivious to the discomfort in the atmosphere. Zachary interjected, \u201cLet him play with the toy. I bought plenty of new toys for Sonny. He won\u2019t miss it.\u201d Noticing that the Repton child had dirty hands, Zachary considered the toy to be soiled and tainted, so he figured the kid could have it for all he cared. He gestured to Serenity, encouraging her to give the new toy to her son.<\/p>\n

Serenity approached the Repton kid, aiming to ease Liberty\u2019s burdens. She gently picked up the toy and handed it to Chelsea\u2019s son. As she did this, Serenity noticed the child\u2019s dirty hands, which revealed the true motivation behind Zachary\u2019s unexpected act of kindness.<\/p>\n
