\u201cAre you going to take the call?\u201d Zachary inquired as he saw his wife fixated on her phone after loading the shopping bags into the car.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt could be my money-hungry relatives,\u201d she replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ll find out who it is once you answer,\u201d he encouraged. \u201cYou can\u2019t avoid them forever. Don\u2019t be afraid; you have me.\u201d With Zachary by her side, she felt a sense of security that he would support her no matter what.<\/p>\n

Warm tingles spread through Serenity at Zachary\u2019s reassuring words. While he had his flaws, she recognized that she wasn\u2019t perfect either. Zachary had gone above and beyond for her, especially considering they entered their marriage as strangers. This thoughtful gesture earned him another brownie point in Serenity\u2019s eyes.<\/p>\n

You were supposed to make an appointment with a specialist, but you didn\u2019t. We\u2019ve come this far only to be told that we need to redo the examination before Grandmom can be admitted since we don\u2019t have an appointment.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhere are you and your sister staying? We couldn\u2019t find you at your last address. The people there said you moved away a long time ago. Couldn\u2019t you have let your family know in advance? Do you have any respect for your family?\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of people came on this trip, so we don\u2019t have a place to stay.\u201d Serenity felt the weight of the situation. \u201cPlease hurry and text us your current address.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAccommodation for two days,\u201d Serenity thought, her mind racing. \u201cGet cooking now.\u201d She realized they hadn\u2019t even had dinner yet. \u201cIf you think we might be a bother at your house, you could always wire me some cash,\u201d she suggested. \u201cWell, excuse me,\u201d he shot back, clearly irritated. \u201cYou must be quite disappointed that your cousins are thriving in their careers. Your cousin, John, is making a million a year\u2026\u201d At that moment, Serenity interrupted him with a tap on the screen, knowing full well that Granddad tended to brag about every little accomplishment of his children and grandchildren. It was as if he needed the world to know how remarkable his family was, and it certainly fed his ego.<\/p>\n

Despite having successful descendants like John, Granddad had the audacity to expect Serenity to cover the hotel and gas expenses. Did he think she was a pushover? Granddad\u2019s eyes widened in disbelief as he found himself interrupted mid-rant, and anger quickly bubbled to the surface. Stifling the urge to smash his phone, he exclaimed, \u201cThat b*tch, Serenity, hung up on me!\u201d <\/p>\n

Mike chimed in, \u201cShe probably blocked my number.\u201d Granddad continued, \u201cDoes she think refusing my calls absolves her from paying? Do you know where the sisters are working? They need to show up and contribute to your grandmother\u2019s medical expenses.\u201d<\/p>\n

In order to keep Icre comfortable and ensure her well-being, we\u2019ll need some financial support.<\/div>\n
\u201cHave the sisters cover that $100,\u201d Mike suggested, shaking his head.<\/div>\n
