Please remember to lock the door when you leave.”

Zachary briefly glanced at her before returning his focus to his toast.

“Speaking of which, can I take some of the fruit to my sister’s place?” she asked.

Serenity had bought an excess of fruit for a family gathering, and since neither she nor Zachary could consume it all, much of it was destined to spoil in the fridge.

Zachary replied, “Your sister is family. Take whatever you need without needing my approval. You’re free to handle household matters unless it’s something we need to discuss together.”

“We’re not that close, and I’m living in your house. I think it’s only respectful to ask you as my husband,” Serenity countered.

“I’m not one to keep all the good stuff for just my family. I overbought fruit the other day, and it would be a shame for it to go to waste since we can’t eat it all. At least your sister can enjoy some before it spoils,” he explained.

“Okay,” Zachary agreed. With his approval, Serenity packed two bags of fruit to take to her sister’s home.

When she arrived, Liberty greeted her, saying, “You really don’t need to bring gifts when you visit. I can buy things myself.”

“It’s just Zachary and me at home. I might munch on a bit, but Zachary isn’t a fan of fruit. It would be a waste to let it go bad. He suggested I give it to you since you’re family,” Serenity replied.

Serenity reflected that she had never seen Zachary eating fruit. He often worked late and retreated to his room upon returning home, so she only caught glimpses of him in the mornings. It didn’t seem like he had ever taken any snacks from their home.

She suspected that if she didn’t prepare breakfast for him, Zachary would revert to eating out like before. He probably hadn’t even had a glass of the fruit juice from their kitchen.

Tap at home.

At that moment, Liberty accepted the bags filled with fruit. Serenity spent some time playing with her nephew before making her way to the shop. With Serenity gone, Zachary took the toasts and the paper featuring the Word of the Day and tossed them into the trash. Although the toast had been delicious at first, the high carb content of the wheat no longer appealed to him. Along with the leftover breakfast, he also discarded the Word of the Day.

He had reiterated this before, and he would do so again: he would never understand the meaning of jealousy! To avoid any chance of Serenity discovering the paper and breakfast in the bin, Zachary decided to take out the trash himself. The bodyguards were waiting for him downstairs, and since Serenity had already vacated the building, there was no concern about her spotting them.

Mr. Zachary’s appearance with a trash bag left the bodyguards in disbelief. Throughout the years they had served him, they had always regarded Mr. Zachary as a flawless figure. He disposed of the trash in the dumpster before heading to his car. Noticing that the bodyguards were lagging behind, he turned around and asked, “Are you under a freezing spell? What are you standing there for?” The bodyguards snapped out of their daze and quickly matched his pace. One of the bodyguards was responsible for driving the national MPV to York Corporation each day, while Zachary would drive it back home after work.

Half an hour later, a striking red Ferrari suddenly obstructed Zachary’s convoy as they approached York Corporation. The owner of the sports car was a woman dressed in red. Her long, wavy hair cascaded down her back, and her exquisite face was adorned with a diamond necklace, a diamond bracelet, and matching diamond earrings. She truly sparkled like a diamond.

Stepping out of her car, the woman approached the Rolls Royce and knocked on the window.

Zachary rolled down his car window and called out, “Elisa Stone! You’ve got just two minutes to relocate your car!”

Chapter 49 After finishing her breakfast, Serenity tidied up the kitchen and informed Zachary, “I’m heading out.
