Zachary shot her a disapproving glance, his face darkening. Despite having just eaten at the dinner party, she still had an appetite for more.<\/div>\n
She was such a glutton!<\/div>\n
\u201cCranberries can be quite bitter when eaten raw, but there\u2019s a sweet aftertaste that comes through. They were once a favorite of my most cherished man.\u201d<\/div>\n
Taking a seat beside Zachary, Serenity opened the container of cranberries. Zachary subtly shifted away, wanting to avoid any stains on his clothes.<\/div>\n

\u201cThe man on the hundred-dollar bill.\u201d<\/div>\n
Zachary thought, \u201c\u2026\u201d To him, money was just a collection of numbers in his bank account.<\/div>\n

\u201cNo thanks. Enjoy yourself. And could you please take that to the dining hall? I can\u2019t stand the thought of the furniture getting stained.\u201d<\/div>\n
Noticing Zachary\u2019s obsession with cleanliness, Serenity carried her container away, muttering, \u201cHigh earners must be very particular about the finer things in life.\u201d<\/div>\n
Meanwhile, Serenity was having a delightful time snacking in the dining room.<\/div>\n
With a grimace, Zachary watched her go, but who was he to judge?<\/div>\n

\u201cMr. York, since you didn\u2019t work late tonight, can you come home early tomorrow too?\u201d<\/div>\n
From the dining hall, Serenity directed her question at him.<\/div>\n
Zachary paused for a moment before responding coldly, \u201cWhat for?\u201d<\/div>\n
It was as if he was born indifferent; his tone had always been flat and unemotional since their first meeting.<\/div>\n
Serenity sighed internally. Nonetheless, they were merely<\/div>\n

Roommates posing as a married couple could simply opt for a divorce if things didn\u2019t go as planned!<\/p>\n

\u201cI need you to take me to the market florist tomorrow,\u201d Serenity said. \u201cI want to pick up some potted plants for the balcony. It\u2019s more convenient since you have a car.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zachary was momentarily speechless.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you can\u2019t get up that early, you could just lend me your car, and I can drive myself,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat time?\u201d he finally asked after a brief internal debate. Ultimately, he decided to wake up early in the morning and accompany her to the florist for the plants to decorate their balcony.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s aim for six o\u2019clock. We can grab breakfast before we get the plants, and we might as well pick up a few essentials for the house too,\u201d she suggested.<\/p>\n

Serenity had noticed that the house lacked many items when she moved in on her first day. She suspected that Zachary hadn\u2019t lived there before her arrival, as the place felt devoid of personal touches. \u201cSure,\u201d Zachary replied.<\/p>\n

After Serenity finished her cranberries and made her way to the living room, Zachary inquired, \u201cWhy did you close shop early tonight?\u201d<\/p>\n
