As Zachary entered the room, he quickly became the focal point of the gathering, completely unaware of Serenity, his new bride, who was tucked away in a corner. Serenity\u2019s eyes struggled to break through the crowd to find his face.<\/div>\n
After straining to catch a glimpse of him while standing on her toes for what felt like ages, Serenity\u2019s patience wore thin. She decided to retreat to her seat, pulling her best friend Jasmine aside. \u201cI give up. There are just too many people to see anything. Let\u2019s just eat,\u201d she declared.<\/div>\n

Zachary furrowed his brows in concern but quickly masked his irritation, responding coldly, \u201cWhat is she doing here?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have no idea,\u201d the bodyguard replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cKeep a close watch on her. Make sure she doesn\u2019t see me. Also, take some photos of who she interacts with,\u201d Zachary instructed firmly.<\/p>\n

In his mind, Zachary couldn\u2019t shake the suspicion that Serenity might have an ulterior motive for being there, possibly looking to elevate her status in the social scene. That was precisely why he had kept his identity a secret from her; he feared she would be put off by the fact that he was just a regular wage earner.<\/p>\n

The bodyguard nodded respectfully, taking note of the instructions.<\/p>\n

Zachary then returned to his conversations with the CEOs, knowing that these discussions often led to important deals being made.<\/p>\n

Unbeknownst to Serenity, she was being discreetly observed by her husband\u2019s bodyguard. <\/p>\n

When Jasmine returned after some inquiries, Serenity eagerly asked, \u201cHow did it go? Did you find out anything?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDefinitely! The heir of the Yorks is here. He\u2019s the head of York Corporation, but I couldn\u2019t spot him myself; it was too crowded. He\u2019s surrounded by a security team. My aunt mentioned that the heir tends to keep his distance from women. Whenever he attends events, he makes sure his bodyguards are close by to deter any single ladies from approaching him,\u201d Jasmine explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh,\u201d Serenity responded, intrigued.<\/p>\n
