The delicate fabric exposed her shoulders, and her skin felt as smooth as the silk itself. The pajamas clung to her figure, leaving her back mostly bare. Tonight, Charlie found himself unusually captivated by Claire, his throat tightening as he gazed at her.<\/p>\n

She was lounging sideways on the bed, the thin, silky material hugging her graceful curves like a second skin. The hem of her pajama top rested gently over her thighs, while her long, fair legs stretched out lazily on the bed.<\/p>\n

Noticing Charlie\u2019s intense stare, Claire blushed and playfully scolded him, \u201cStop looking at me like that; it\u2019s not like you haven\u2019t seen it before.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie flashed a sheepish grin. \u201cDarling, you\u2019re so beautiful that it\u2019s never enough to just look.\u201d<\/p>\n

Claire rolled her eyes at his playful compliment, but a glimmer of joy sparkled in her gaze.<\/p>\n

Charlie had truly surprised her today. She had always thought he had some basic skills in fortune-telling and martial arts, but she never imagined he possessed such remarkable power. He had even saved her best friend\u2019s life in a critical moment\u2014an extraordinary feat!<\/p>\n

Unable to contain her curiosity, she asked, \u201cCharlie, how did you become so powerful all of a sudden? You handled the Butcher Brothers with such ease.\u201d<\/p>\n

With a smug grin, Charlie replied, \u201cIt\u2019s a secret, but I\u2019ll share it if you let me kiss you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Claire smacked her lips in playful annoyance and blushed, saying, \u201cDream on!\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie, momentarily distracted by Claire\u2019s alluring posture, quickly turned to the closet to fetch a quilt but was taken aback by what he saw.<\/p>\n

The closet was empty, and the quilt he usually used to sleep on the floor was missing.<\/p>\n

\u201cDarling, where\u2019s my quilt?\u201d he inquired.<\/p>\n

Claire gasped as if a thought struck her, exclaiming, \u201cI threw it into the washing machine!\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie was left speechless, realizing he had nothing to lay on the floor for the night. He sighed, \u201cI can\u2019t sleep on the floor without my quilt. I guess I\u2019ll sleep on the sofa instead.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIdiot,\u201d Claire teased. She opened her closet, pulled out her quilt, and handed it to him. \u201cUse mine.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Charlie held the quilt, a subtle fragrance wafted from it. Excitedly, he said, \u201cDear, you\u2019re so sweet to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Claire gave him a teasing glance and huffed, \u201cLet\u2019s just get some sleep.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nodding, Charlie hugged Claire\u2019s quilt, inhaling the faint scent that made him feel jittery and thrilled.<\/p>\n

If things continued like this, he thought, he might soon be sharing a bed with his wife.<\/p>\n

Then Claire added, \u201cOh, by the way, I\u2019ll be busy with my studio for the next couple of days. I\u2019ve set up the office, and now it\u2019s time to tackle some projects. Please stay home and keep Dad company; make sure he doesn\u2019t go to Antique Street and buy useless things, okay?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy don\u2019t I help you at your studio? You don\u2019t have to pay me; I can handle tasks like wiping tables, vacuuming, and making coffee!\u201d<\/p>\n

Claire smiled. \u201cYou don\u2019t need to worry about that. There won\u2019t be much for you to do at the studio, and if there is, it\u2019ll mostly be me sketching and drafting designs. It\u2019s better if you stay home and take care of the household chores.\u201d<\/p>\n
